Well apparently this post needs made casue some people have not been following the story and dont have the facts straight what so ever!

Topleadsbiz (Chris) brought his car to a place called Tech1 over in Tampa to have them swap out his used 5.0 which had 200k miles on it for a newer lower milage motor.

Tech1 screwed this kid over! They sold him what looks to be a 5.0 out of a Lincoln (non HO) and now also has oiling issues.

There are now 4 shops involved in this ordeal and this is where the clearification needs to be made for everyone to see.

Tech1 is the bad guy here. They took this kids money, sold him a non HO 5.0 and the motor is junk.

Genium Performance, Ford Speed, and All American are just caught up in the middle since this kid has contacted all three of us to get some help and pointed in the right direction of what he needs to do to make everything right.

All American....I know he has contatced you but I dont know what you all have talked about. But I am sure a thanks is in order.

Third.....it has ended up at my shop. All we have done was check the vehicle out for the oiling issue when hot. What we have found is that when the oil gets hot you no longer have oil pressure. Two things usually cause that....one: junk in the oil pan (clogging oil pick up screen) or two: excessive bearing clearance.

My name was put in these posts just to show what has been found with the motor that TECH1 sold him and installed. I have written up a story of what we found on one of my company letter heads so Chris can use it to his advantage with dealing with Tech1.

So.....Genium Performance, Ford Speed, and All American are in no way involved with the motor that has been installed in Chris's car. We have all just been contacted to look over and fix what Tech1 has screwed up.

It really is a shame that I needed to make this post. But this hole ordeal has now become a HUGE cluster fuck! There are way too many hands in the cookie jar right now and there is soon to be more I am affraid.

Agreed. It was obvious to me with the first post by Chris that he got screwed by Tech1. That's why I asked if they used any lube...and I didn't mean in the engine. Kudo's to you at Genium, Joe at Fordspeed and Shuan at All American for pitching in and trying to help, Unfortunately, the OP doesn't seem to know what he wants to do even though you guys as well as a lot of us "regular" guys have told him what needs to be done. I'd say you all need to back away and send him along on his own. The frustataion will not do you any good. Ya can't help those who refuse to be helped.

 

^^^ True, he just doesn't know what he wants it seems like, even though countless solutions have been offered. Huge kudos to Genium, All American, and Fordspeed for helping this guy out as much as you all have!

 

Hey guys, I'm sorry to cause such a cluster ****. You have to understand how much money I have lost in this whole process just to be left with a car that doesn't run and is basically no more than a shell, it became frustrating when I ran out of money on this project and couldn't get the things done that needed to be done. I am paying the price for not doing my research. I know Shaun over at All American thinks i'm a dickhead, but really I do apologize, I meant to bring it to your shop and accidentally landed at Genium due to a mix-up with the addresses on the ford shop page... the car was in such bad shape, I did not want to risk driving it any further... I appreciate ALL the help everyone provided to me, and the only bad guys in the situation are Tech1.... FordSpeed, Genium, All American Street Car Performance, these guys went out of their way to try and help me, and as I have told them all directly, it is appreciated.

So, it's a non-H.O.. Now what? Small claims?

 

They are giving me back my old motor and refunded the money (Tech1) so I think we are going to avoid that entirely.

 

So basically you're only out time and stress?

 

No, they did not refund the entire amount, it came to $1495.00, they gave back $795.00 and will take the motor they gave me out, and bolt my old motor back in without connecting it back up.

 

I'd raise some serious hell... You should be getting the full amount back, unless I'm missing something?
