HUGE SALE at GEARHEAD PERFORMANCE
Wait a minute Slow poke works for this company?
Here I thought it was a ford guy trying to give us other guys a heads up, not some guy advertising for his own place of work. Next time you are advertising for your company you should let us know so we don't waste our time.
I could care less about Murry's vs gearhead. I'd never even heard of murrys. From my personal dealing with gearhead I would not use them unless I had to. Part of that is my fault from not understanding slowpokes relationship with said company. The other part is just how they did the sale and isn't his fault.

Ummmm.....If you don't give them a CHANCE to fix the problem, then you are just as at fault. If you just go around spewing trash talk about them, then it is just as much your fault as theirs. How? Well, would YOU want to help someone who does nothing but talk trash about you all the time? Me neither. If you never give someone a chance, then you have already cut them off at the knees and will never fully realize their full potential. So you had ONE bad experience. Would you do the same thing to Murray's if you had the same problem with them?
While it is true that you only get one first impression, I would say that everyone needs a second chance to prove themselves before judgement is passed. Also, as these before me have said, give them a little time to let things settle down a bit before blasting them. Have you ever started your own business? How about AQUIRED a business or taken one over? The first few MONTHS after the aquisition are the worst. You will have the worst possible problems arise during this time, and in the process of trying to please one customer, you end up pissing off another. Everyone wants their stuff yesterday, and sometimes it just isn't possible.
1meancobra,
Would you rather wait on hold while the guy on the other end of the phone deals with the customer in front of him and then looks up your part?
Oh, I know, "He shouldn't be answering the phone if he's going to deal with the customer at the counter." Right? Ever heard of the phrase "One in the hand is better thna two in the bush"? One in the hand (or one at the counter with cash in hand) is better than two in the bush (or two people on the phone who are fishing for the best price around and will likely go somewhere else that is a. closer or b. $3 cheaper)
So they get the info from you to return your call, and the part you need, then they hang up. Rather than waste your time. Sounds pretty courteous(sp) to me. I'm surprised that they would actually call you back. Most places say they will, but never do.
Wow...Murray's has 12 stores. Cool....Jegs has 2 store locations I think....They do WAY more business than Murray's. Maybe you should buy your parts from them? I'm sure it's cheaper. Oh, I know...you don't want to wait for a few days to get your parts. Guess what! Even Jegs and Summit have stock issues from time to time. I have had instances in the past when I waited for 3 weeks to recieve a part from Jegs. I still buy from them. I also still visit their store when I go to Columbus. Of course, they sell you the same parts you can find in their catalogs for the SAME PRICE as in their catalogs when you buy it at the store...but...Thats Jegs...They're only a WORLDWIDE company that has the same issues you mentioned you had with Gearhead, from time to time.
My point here is that even the best place can have issues, and you shouldn't talk trash until it becomes a recurant problem. Of course, your "recurrant(sp) problem" may just be a problem to you and is actually quite common in the industry. Remember, when you point the finger at someone else, you have 3 more pointing right back at you.

ok this is in reply to 95 cobra svt. i have been dealing with my local automotive eng for over 5 years now. then it got by gear head. im not bashing the owner of gear head. im bashing the bradenton store. im sure the owner and the orignal peaple at gearhead are great peaple. ive herd the goods and the bads just like every company. its gonna happen. but the bradenton store is a joke. the guy is a toolbox. he said he would call me back and never herd back. not just once has this happend but oh 4 or five times. and im not the only one this happens to i talk to a bunch of my friends around here and are sick of the customer service they recive. never any parts in the store. it looks like a ghost town in the store. hardley any parts in the store. here for instance i called for a MSD hei gm cap very simple. ALLWAYS IN STOCK EVERY WHERE U GO. i call the store and he tells me they quit makeing it. lol i laugh and say hey thanks for ur time. i call somewhere else and they go yeah i got it. that is terriable. freaking adavance auto carrys that part. so just for shits and giggles im in the area i go in the store and sure enough there it is on the wall. ive spent so much money in that store it ant funny. but my point is 80% of the peaple in bradenton go somewhere else now. i hope this message gets to the guy on the fourm that works for gearhead and i hope he lets someone hire up help fix this probiblem for there store. maybee get annother guy ther to help them out or something.
oh and i dont like going to summit or jegs cause i like to help the local places around me. its the right thing to do.
anyway i didnt mean to sturr up u guys on here but i felt that someone needs to just call down to bradenton and hear what me and every one here has to deal with. lol its upsetting.
so have a great night every one i hope this message gets through to some and makes a differance.

.....even if HE made 2% on every sale at his store that day for his advertisement ...YOU saver 48% off of retail. just smart business....imo
ok "bradenton gearhead sucks",im not the only one i know that ordered parts and havent got them, they need to hire someone down in b'ton that knows what hes doing, every day is a different excuse, just give me my damn parts,i dont dont want to here someone didnt order it right ,just give me my fucking parts
For all the complainers....... talk to your automated push button phone systems and mail order your stuff. I could careless Gearhead / Murrays, I support the LOCAL business. Ive been dealing with A&E in Temple Terrace every since Super Shops closed. There's no reason to complain about one company or another its all about the hobby for me. I dont want to ordere things over the phone and wait for the UPS man. Now with Gearhead they price match mail order and I pick it up in the store.
Keep up the good work Mitch, some of us appreciate an ole dude.
