Its not that european colleges suck, European engineers have been way ahead of us since the dawn of engineering. its just that its way cheaper for me to drive to Daytona for college as opposed to flying to europe and living there, its a matter of convenience.

As for health care, I'm not sure if you know this, but Europe continues stem cell research, so they're quite a bit ahead of us. They're also much more eco-friendly, polluting far less than we do, and using much more clean energy.

But what is it you contribute to this great country of ours hmm? Why is it you're Mr. Self Richeous USA? I'm willing to bet you're the kind of person who roots for a team solely because they're local. I'm sure if you were from another country you would constantly rag on America.

The fact still stands, McCain supports the patriot act, the patriot act removes tons of freedom, this country is supposed to be free, McCain clearly doesn't support freedom.

 

McCain supports the Patriot Act because he is dangerously close to losing a lot of his Republican support. We'll see if he doesn't change his tune later on. I have a very hard time believing McCain is in favor of laws that limit our freedoms...but I suppose we'll see.

#2 So because a country chooses to utilize stem cells, they're way ahead of someone who doesn't? I don't think so. Our country has the BEST health care in the world. Period. bar none. Also, when people want to go to college to become physicans, they come to America. Wonder why that is?

#3 FYI, they polute less for a reason. There's not as many drivers. They can't afford to drive much. Most of their cars get less mileage than ours because they're antiquated. They don't all drive new cars ya know. Neither do we, but our emissions laws are some of the harshest in the world. Especially in California, Oregon, and Washington. Here in the "dirty dirty south", the emissions laws are quite relaxed. But wait...Shouldn't we be ALLOWED to pollute if we WANT to? I mean, it IS a "free" country.

Wrong. America has by far the lowest national average for fuel mileage. In most of europe they're well into the 30s and 40s. Same with Japan and China. Our emissions laws are nothing compared to those in Europe and Japan. In Switzerland its illegal to modify your car in any way that creates more hp. Including air filters! They will literally take your car and crush it just like we do for street racing.

Voting and taxes, was going to be a marine but decided I wanted to be paid more than $40k a year while not being shot at.

I wasn't referring to being on a bandwagon, I was referring to long term achievements. If you take an objective look at every team, and one team consistently outperforms the others, thats who I would root for.

 

This is the kind of selfish fat American that people in other countries think we're all like. Freedom does not come free. If you would study American history you would see that in times of major strife our government has HAD to bend the rules some to keep our way of life and our citizens safe. If it effects you in a negative way they I'm sorry. Would you rather have more innocent people dying on our streets or would you want that thwarted buy wire taping? I undersgtand what you are saying and to a point agree that freedom is one of the most important thing we have going for us. What good is freedom if you live under the thret of attack. If our grand and great grandparents had your line of thinking this world would be in a whole lot whorse shape.

I can't stand it when people whee all over themselves about how bad America is and then they don't just pack up and leave. The next time Honduras, or some other little scumbag country gets rolled over by some natural disaster don't worry, the good old USA will be there to help bail them out of their "sweet deal".
