need some help badly....
I know a multimillionaire that dropped out of the 8th grade.
I still say GED's have a stigma attached, and who the hell would want that???

True, a GED will get you hired on some agencies, but with the job market being so bad and government spending cuts, the few places that would be hiring are only taking the cream of the crop.....and that does NOT include those with GEDs....sorry, but you are bottom of the barrel with that and not likely to see a LEO job any time soon....
Stay in school brother.....graduate, get loans and at least get a 2 year college degree....
Or join the military...

jfwy I wouldnt want to get ya in trouble.
Honeslty like I said there is nothing wrong with a GED. I know alot of people have made it successful. But like you said its all what you make of it. That will depend how far it will go.
Okay, I pretty much skipped alot in this thread, didn't read much but I did see something about home school and online school. I know of 2 different online schools. flvs.net is one (pain in the ass, not worth it) and the other is novelstars.com (easiest form of schooling I've ever done)
mosh, I'm in some ways im in the same boat as you. When I was in 11th grade I skipped WAY too much and got truancy and was court ordered to do online school, which I chose to do novelstars, its soo easy but after a while you get lazy. In my case I got caught up in my job (overnight stocker) and didn't have time to do schoolwork, I wish I could go back to school. I'm now 18 and missed my graduating year. Trust me, its worth it to try to get back into school. All though since i passed my fcats with great scores and made good grades in school I can take the same test as a GED but instead will receive a real high school diploma.
My advise is to go to your old school and talk to your guidance counselor and see if there is any way you can either begin schooling on Novelstars or do the Exit Options program.

If I was you, get your GED and sign up for the military. If your wanting to do criminal justice, let the military pay you to go to school, teach you some life skills AND take college classes that you can do w/ GI bill. Work as a LEO for the military till your term is up. Is a GED the best? Not exactly, but with military training and college to back it, it will work out the same.
Just dont life pass you up with neither one. If at all possible go back to high school and get a diploma even if it is from night school. Bad decisions (education, driving record, credit) at a young age, will haunt you for many years to come. Sacrafice everything when it comes to the rest of your life!!! G/L in these important decisions.

Excessive traffic citations will keep you from getting a job as an L.E.O. regardless of your education level.
<~~HS Graduate, International Honor's Society @ College, 4.0GPA, etc. Letters of Recommendation from several very high up authority figures in the community (Chief of Police, Mayor, Ex-Governor, etc) and still couldn't get hired as an officer at Pinellas County S.O.
