Gun owners take action NOW!
There are some huge assumptions on that PBS website, mainly the statement that "straw purchases" are used to buy guns, that, is a felony so the firearm was aquired in an illegal transaction, which makes it just as bad as being stolen, leave it to PBS to fudge the statistics in their favor just like handgun control's statistics.
Gun Stats
and 95 cobra, I wasn't trying to piss you off, I was just having fun.

blacksheep: I'm not pissed off. I never get "pissed off" on things said on the internet. LOL
302andsome: I was using someone ELSE's (funford) stats...and I am AGAINST allowing people to keep their guns in their cars while the vehicle is not occupied by the gun owner.

Well God does bless America (still) the Supreme court just ruled that the 2nd amendment applies to individuals..duh.
Anyway, when I have to leave my gun in the car I lock it in the trunk.
FWIW. as the law now stands your employer DOES have the right to search your car if it's parked on his premises. The employer also has the right to do pretty much what he pleases when you or your vehicle is on his property. As an example, when you take a job someplace you do give up some rights in order to work there, such as, in my case (FD) my hair can only be so long and I must be clean shaven, I must also wear a specific uniform. One could argue that those are my rights to freedom of expression, but that doesn't matter because those are the condiitions of my employment.

And I would laugh in my employers face if he though he was going to search my vehicle.
Well, Fortunatly, MY job does not do things like that.
302andSome, you could view yourself as an employed man if you allowed your employer to do that if they wanted to....Or, in the alternative, you could view yourself as an UNemployed man if you declined to allow them to do it. There is no clause in MY employment package which says I must consent to ANY kind of search by my employer. Therefore, I would not.

That's already allowed by the law and in itself is not the point of the bill....
And really, are you telling me my mother should learn karate to fight a man with a gun, knife or some other weapon?
