But how can you say its fair to allow blacks to give money to fund blacks only when if a white gave money to something that only funded whites they would be sued and called racist..?

I know many states now have Anti-Affirmative action laws now that have removed and changed most AA laws because it is unfair. I know in maryland a family sued the state and won. Their child was denied acceptance to a gifted students program because they held seats open only for those that met certain ethnic requirments. Even though the child passed all the acedemic standards to gain entry she was denied because she was white. Well they sues and won and now the state can not hold only spaced based on ethnic standards.

And lets not forget the college issue that came up a few years back where schools were giving entry based on standards that gave people higher values based on not being white. Well once it hit the media they were forced to change.

Simple fact is that way to many systems are outdated and that to many ethnic groups use current systems to take advantage of it in ways that it was not meant to be used.

 

I kinda do my own little world thing also. but, it does get really irretating. There was always someone (when i was working at the port) that would get tired of something or not like being bossed around and would pull out the" o its because i'm black" card. You know how hard it is to deal with someone after they start this crap? even more if there twice your size.

 

Presumably because they'd spent quite a bit of time in the "Yard" working out while they were at "The Big House!"

I too found it funny back in high school thumbing through the book of scholarships and seeing so many that were only available to blacks......if I hit the lottery, I'm going to start a middle class white male only scholarship......

Im going to play the devils advocate here...

Im cool with all of the black awards, days, whatever...even affirmative action, to a degree - here's why.

Listen to all of you. You're all bitter sounding and have a very strong opinion about other races (blacks) - but then in your next breath you say that affirmative action is no longer needed. Now, take into account that there are many many people who feel MUCH stronger about the issue than you guys/gals do. It's not because blacks/other NEED this special treatment to survive - it's that white people feel...well, like this thread. If you removed AA, there are plently of bitter white-folk that would use that as an opportunity to NOT hire other races. See, as long as there is AA and special treatment, there is animosity(sp?) being built up in some people. Because of this, you cant simply eliminate this special treatment - it's like a vicious circle - the treatment itself breeds more racism, while at the same time protects other races from unfair treatment. I don't see how it will ever go away.

 

i too think all of that is bullshit. I am a white male, 23yrs of age. I tried to get a grant from the government to start my own metal finishing business. I filled out probably like 35 grant forms online, talked to like 20 people on the phone, only to find out that if your a white male, that the government wont give you a grant to save your life. But...if i were black, mexican, asain, indian, or any other race, or a women, i could get a grant without a problem.

I am a very hard working guy, and when i found that out, i couldnt believe it. i guess that everyone thinks that every white guy on the fucking planet was born wish a golden spoon in thier mouth, with money coming out his ass... point is, is that even with all the opportunity (federal funding, special programs, etc) that we have given all these people. what race has the most in jail, most that commit violent crimes, gang voilence, robberies, shootings, etc, etc....

i bet its not the white man. but we cant get help to start something so that we can work hard and raise a family, legally?????? WTF is wrong with that picture?????????

 

You realize that what you posted is 100% one sided. Do you think that for one minute that there are not people of other races that hold high positions of own companies that will not hire white people...?


Let me tell you my little story about Mr Jordan. Everyone likes to talk about how great of a guy he is and how great a basketball player he was. Now Jordan was asked to visit a child in the hospital as part of the make a wish foundation. The child had cancer. Jordans response was, "Is the child black". With crap like that why would I want any programs to help them.. It obvious all they look out for is themselves, so why should I care about them. I say all special treatment needs to go away.
