Default drift track? possible?

mmm im sure youv herd it over and over again oh yea im gonna do this and gonna do that i know i dont have many posts but iv lived in the tampa area and have loved cars all my life iv drifted plenty of times in my supra but never really thought about how illegal it was til i got pulled over one night drifting off of 118th and realized i could have boutght a new fmic with what i had to pay for the ticket. well my wifes grandfather owns a good portion of mulberry wich is a little town just before lakeland he has a pretty good sized lot about 5 to 6 acres i would say it has a shop on it ( his buisness ) but behind the shop there is about 5 acres worth of land plus two 5 acre lots next to it on either side that he owns. NOW TO THE MAJOR QUESTION what is stopping somone from putting down a legit track? what are the requirments? what are the city's standings on doing something like this? i mean i talked to tons of people about it and its a good i idea getting us off the street and drifting legit on a fun and safe and ticket free road/track i have the recourses i have the equipment i have evertything needed to start something like this what i need is input on the situation and someone to tell me what brick walls im going to run into that i have to get over...

before you go any farther, find out the zoning of HIS property, then lookup what a race track would fit into. if it is in a 'populated' area at all with other businesses or houses near, you are most def screwed. if its kind of 'away' from shit then good chance.

look up zoning and get back to us.

like how involved of a track?are you talking about just layin down some cement, or making some kind of a roadcourse with walls and shit?some restrictions might only apply to more in depth stuff...like a full on roadcourse.it might be easier to make it simple? idk just a thought.

its a comercial lot there are some houses around but i dont think that shoul be a problem and i was thinking it would be more logical to pave the entire thing and use some kind of removible/idk barrier like tires or something?

with a 'skidpad' type thing you might be ok but you will probablly have to put up a 8ft high cement wall surrounding it (20+ feet off of paved area) to trap the sound from the public, or else youll get major complaints.

Owning & operating a tracks don't make any $$$, hence why many have shut down in the last decades.

Parkinglots are skidpads. There's plenty all around here.

Airports are a great place to setup a drift event.

Then we should easily see driving fees of $100 per a driver. Doubt anyone would go. The last event that Drift Basic tried to arrange didn't workout because lack of numbers of registered drivers. Why the lack? Well because fees were $130. It's close to home for the majority of us, St. Petersburg, so distance isn't the issue, it was the driving cost. peple were scared & poor, and also too stubborn to realize that it was a good deal.

I wonder if it's possible to have such a event to where drivers and spectators attend the event at their own risk. This might throw out insurance cost and coverage completely.

Zoning, noise ordinances, environmental concerns, permits, all major things to tackle when building a track.
