New Dodge Charger for Formula D?
Weight doesn't make a car hard to drift, it just changes its strongpoints. My wagon is 3000+ curbweight and keeps lots of momentum through turns, meaning that I can keep more speed at the exit than a lighter car with the same power.
As for why Dodge changed to the Charger: Chrysler can sell more Chargers than Vipers.

not to jump in on the debate like i know any (truely, im a fucking noob) but the only advantage the 240 and carolla have in weight category is their weight distribution is as close to 50/50 as it can get, well from what ive heard but cary on with your civilized discussion
and im glad that chevy makes the GTO... (yes i do know the Pontiac is a devision of GM which also owns Chevy, but im still bustin ur balls cause its not a chevy) on the topic of chevy drift cars though, Falken has a 69 camaro drift car

If so, hell, I'll do it too. Free car, tires, parts.
Reliability depends how the owner takes care of it, but they can take the beating.
Relative pricing...There's a time when local auto parts stores stop selling parts for a particular car when it becomes too old.
Availability
sureee. They are listed on the endangered species now.
A Rolla with 200 hp is every drifter's dream. They come stock with only 110s hp. So 200 is doubling the power from stock. That's just enough power to pull it through any turns sideways. And for sure, that car doesnt weigh 2,400. It weighs more like 50 pounds,
well actually its 2,200 lbs
The more weight is added on a car, the more serious suspension and beefier parts need to be.

my point about factory support was.. your average drifter cant afford a 25k car or maybe they can but the extra 20k its going to take to make it a competitive race car is another story .. now parts stores dont stop SELLING anything.. its just becomes a non stocking item . go try to find ae86 parts at autozone.. you will be lucky if they have it at the warehouse and can get it tomorrow.. oh and you would be lucky if a stock gt-s had 110 hp to the wheels a corolla coupe is tippin scales at 2080lbs with out my fat ass in it .. dont get me wrong.. i love the car the whole 2 weeks i have driven it out of the 9 months ive owned it were enough to make me want to dump every cent i have into it .but when im done with this i will be looking for something a little heftier and safer feeling..and by no means am i going to sell my rolla.
