The punch their Hemi's pack is also pretty fucking insane for a factory sedan/wagon. The only downside is none of them are available in a 6sp manual, only 5sp automatics (which actually shift pretty well, not the slow & sloppy like your average slushbox).
Its my #2 reason on the top of my list why i hate domestic cars (excluding trucks).

Weight can be overcome with the use of good suspension and producing enough power. Weight is no excuse.
Yes it is.Why are corollas (ae86) and silvias are so popular drift cars?
#1) aftermarket drift support
#2) parts
#3) weight
Now i know someone here, such as Paulie, is going to come in here, and tell me how a moron i am.

but .. when you have factory sponsorship .. it makes a whole new world for a driver/team. and besides the 3 reasons you gave.. the #1 reason those cars are good dori cars is the relative price/availability of them compared to most everything else. i think i would rather have a 400hp 3400 lb car than a 200hp 2400 lb car its all about stability . shit happens wayy to fast in a corolla its hard to keep up.. but im learning
factory sponsorship...i suppose anyone who drifts in a charger will be sponsored by DiamlerChrysler?
If so, hell, I'll do it too. Free car, tires, parts.
Reliability depends how the owner takes care of it, but they can take the beating.
Relative pricing...There's a time when local auto parts stores stop selling parts for a particular car when it becomes too old.
Availability
sureee. They are listed on the endangered species now.
A Rolla with 200 hp is every drifter's dream. They come stock with only 110s hp. So 200 is doubling the power from stock. That's just enough power to pull it through any turns sideways. And for sure, that car doesnt weigh 2,400. It weighs more like 50 pounds,
well actually its 2,200 lbs
The more weight is added on a car, the more serious suspension and beefier parts need to be.
