Castro subaru!
I hear ya man. I do. I know exactly where you're coming from.
I don't think it's a cool idea to drift an s13. But I understand why people do it.

Te coilovers are factory set height, and there is about 4 inches of drop left in it, even though there is only 3.75 inches of ground clearance left.

I like it and would gladly video it for ya when you get it done...
Think you might have it done by Sept 3rd? Would be nice to debut this beast at OGP =)

too bad this wasnt a little while ago, when my friend was selling his dms gold 40mm wrx coilovers for around 900$. that would have been pretty sweet too.
i know the cars are underrated, and i like subarus alot.
i just dont think that dropping the front axles, and making it rwd is going to work that well. but maybe theres more to it?
if it works, and is simpler than that, trust me ill be the first one to say i was wrong.
I need someone with a huge welder (like a 250) to weld my center differential into a mass (viscous coupling right now), because although the part numbers are the same, 2.5rs/wrx center diff doesn't fit the legacy transmission. Once the car is forced 4wd all the time, I will remove the half sshafts, leaving the stub axles in for support, and either cryo the rear axles or get sti parts.
I would love to have it video'd, but it would be cooler if we just did a Team Castro vid (me and Mark and ?). I am going to bust my ass to get it done by sept 3rd. Either way I will be at dd7, since I usually run the start

Interesting set up, ive read about people welding the center diff so it only sends power to the rear (or something like that), is that what you are planning to do?
And nice job on the coil-over conversion.

not trying to rain on the parade, but the only thing that holds those male axle ends in is a small c-clip, and the pressure from the axle in the hub.
whenever i do subaru axles, i always just lightly pry that part out of the transmission (it isnt any harder than any other fwd cv axle. and then press the roll pin out, outside of the car. and then reinstall it all together.
might want to find a way to keep those input shafts in the trany thats a little more reliable than a tiny, unsupported c clip.
oh, and the car looks good. i was parked next to it at cophers today
