i agree that its proper to take the safety precausions that charles mentinoed...

but you know what... its up to you as a driver to know what is right and you... you know what is SAFE and required for tandem to do it safely...

its not like u CANT drift at lakeland if they are doing tandem, and tandem is not required... if someone dies during tandeom because of lack of safety or whatevr that is struaght up because of the driver and the person in charge...

i know its nice to have a legal event properly, which is also what i want... but for god sakes... if you are going to drift do it safe, you are not being forced to tandem...

should you choose to do it anyway without proper equipment and fuck up... then your ass is fucked and so is the person in charge...

everyone else dirft happy during the day being responsible...

do NOT get me wrong... i would want to promote a safe event just as much as anyone and i think people on here would aprpeciate it more if the people hosting events cleared everything up with EXACT details...

There is an old saying, the truth is always after 'the BUT'.

I like to play a game called 'what-if's'. Remember, I'm older (which doesn't make any difference, just sounds good).

What if 2 cars tandem and they wreck?

What is Somebody is severly hurt?

What happens at 1 event EFFECTS everybody. Cars can be replaced, but people can not. On top of that, any claims made that relate to drifting only RAISE the cost of insuring the events (or makes it impossible to insure at all).

All I see 'in regards to insurance' is legal issues. Obviously, Driver Safety is not a priority at these venue.

you are right, and thats primarily up to the sponsors to make sure the safety is insured...

but thats solely between the dumbass who hosted the event with no insurnace, and the dumbass who thought he could tandem and not get hurt...

how is everyone else involved if they drift responsibly...

jonas by your reasoning then, if a father left a loaded gun on his nightstand, safety off, and his 12yr old kids picks it up and accidentally shoots himself in the head, then its the kids fault for knwing the outcome? or is it the fathers fault for presenting a dangerous situation?

who said you had to tandem to wreck? Like I said before, too many UNANSWERED questions.

and BTW, It looks like XAT is an 'organizer' too. Hmmmm, wonder how deep those pockets go?

Seriously? Correct me if I am wrong, but while event insurance is meant to cover the asses of organizers in the event something goes wrong.

So let's say something goes wrong. Who's gonna pay? not your insurance company. You'll probably have to sue the event organizers. So you sue miles. You have $100k in medical bills, what do you think your gonna get from him? His S14? think about it.

And BTW, waivers don't usually hold up in court.
