listen man, im sorry for tweaking on you, but this just bothered me for a lot of reasons... trying not to freak out more.

sure, everyones allowed to have their opinion, freedom of speech and all. you just came off sounding like the "armchair analyists" from the first dday, people with no clue about anything they were watching who still felt righteous enough to rank people and crack on them. its a bit different, agreed, but its easy to make the comparison. sorry.

my only point is, if they wanted judges at the event, they would have hired them.

the only people that sucked at the event were those that were on the sidelines only paying $5 for being a spectator and not actually driving themselves.

agreed with matt.

I love how people who didn't even drive the track once or even attempt to enter the event are judging those who went out there to learn. That is some real fucking bullshit in my opinion.

Slash - this thread sucks and you are an idiot for starting it. next time participate instead of just being a poser...then critiquing everyone.

LOL the thing is that i put no negative energy towards anyone, i didnt critique at all. I only said what moved me positively.

When you go to Bush Gardens don’t you say what is the best roller coaster? How many of you have enough of a degree in mechanical engineering to design a roller coaster?

So all of a sudden I'm not allowed to say "That roller coaster was GREAT!" just because I cant design one myself.....

I never said anyone sucked, I never said anyone was less than these here, I only said positive things about the drivers in this thread. I'm sorry people, I know I suck; I'm not posing at all. Did I ever say I was good, or better than anyone else? Even once? You don’t have to be a great football player to watch one and write about them, many sports writers are the same. Not everyone likes what a sports writer writes, or agrees with why they wrote what they wrote, but that’s the beauty of media.

Regardless of the "list" people will always push positive comments at people who did well and those without may feel offended. The problem with mine is it was too "Formal" apparently, rather than just making a reply in another thread.

I suppose I'll never tell my aunt and uncle how their next thanksgiving dinner was the best ever, because I don’t know how to baste a turkey myself....

I just that I know a bit about drifting, it’s not like I'm just someone who came to the events because they are JDM, and says people aren’t "mad tyte" because they spin. I've done it for myself in the rain, and I know car control from my many SCCA events that reside under my belt. I understand the tremendous effort and concentration that go into drifting, and also understand part of what makes "good" drifters separate from "great" drifters in talent (I will never be a “Great” drifter). I watch these videos hundreds of times, even in slow motion or using adobe premier to zoom at them. I look at front wheel angle on the same corners but different cars/drivers very closely (style is extremely apparent here), and how much the wheel jerks or wavers from a steady path. A big part of it is how early they are sliding before the corner, and how that is maintained. I try to look at how drivers save themselves from potential off courses and their techniques at scrubbing or gaining speed in an attempt to learn more myself.

Anyhow, I'll refrain from doing this in the future just for the sake of reduced drama on the board, personally I think its fine, but I'll respect the thoughts of some of you since you are all my friends (unlike the readers of a sports column).

Slash

Your criticism contributions to this thread would be much more valid if you ever actually participated. It's real easy to sit on the sidelines and offer critique of how others are doing but that critique is baseless when it comes from someone who doesn't participate.

you know what the worst is when the little ricer boi's were spectaing and the guy hit the hay bails in that really nice 13 and they started ragging him and his friend was sitting right there. now how funny would that have been if he went and light those little jackoffs up. so the moral of this story is be carefull when u talk shit cause u never know if his friend is sitting there staring at u.
