regina, you missed my point about the "fame" thing. for me, i often feel its for personal honor, for the sake of being good, to satisfy myself with skill more than to satisfy anyone else. to realize youre a "contender", but still having your motivation based in the enjoyment of the slide. anyone who participates for the sole sake of becoming recognized is a sign of misconception, because the whole sport started as people just having fun and seeing what they can do when the road gets curvy.

but oh man... ive read that other thread before, but reading it again is getting me all pissed off, even brought orlando into it. what an ass.

oh well, dday will help everyone blow off steam.

I apologize for the misunderstanding! I gotcha now. I definitely felt good when I improved in the Hialeah paddock from D-DayI. You're absolutely right and I concur with you entirely. I also cannot wait for Primus in general!!! Muwahaha.

After reading tony's posts on drifting.com, I don't really feel like driving down there for any events he has fingerprints on.....I'm a bitch for drift days though, so I probably will if it isn't on the track.

To those reading who are not familiar with the cast of players, don't let it turn you off to DG Trials events...you're seeing the most outspoken of the group on an internet forum, it isn't like this at the events, really

The Orlando crowd is particularly pretty chill, and I'm sure a lot of them will make the short hop over. The Tampa crewe is pretty cool too once you take away their keyboards.

Ummm how would you guess they extricate patients from let's say, a flipped suv that smacked the pole and then knocked it over and draped live wires across the car and surrounding area?

They can shut down power lines if need be. I understand that they cant just be turned off lickity split but they can be turned off if you give 1 quick call to say, Teco or someone of that nature.

reginavagina, from what im reading, i respect you for calling it quits early at that event. i would have done the same as mine is or will be a daily driver. it would suck ass if i totaled my car with no other way home. some people need to realize that a lot of grass roots drifters do not have a millon dollars to be throwing away and we are far from professional drifters too.
also you will love primus cause the pavement is absolutely flat. ive been told this by several people that race karts there and if you know anything about karts, they dont have "suspension" and you can feel every ripple in the road. im really looking forward to participating if funds alow. damn rent to hell.
\

p.s. Jamie i can pound a lot of that out and make it look decent, no charge. if interested pm me.

I love YOU JAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know when I used to ride, I never gave up no matter how big the gap or how big the ramp was id still do it, no matter how many times I fucked my self up I still do it till I did it. You just stepped the bar up. I envy you. I know car = more money, but experience = priceless. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not encouraging for anyone one to wreck their car, but there are just those people that stand out. AND THAT’S YOU JAMES@! As soon as I find my balls again ill be there with you! It’s better to live, then not to live at all! Battle scar suck but at least you can talk about it! I’m glad nothing happened to you.

There usually aren't 100 spectators standing under the other power lines that are going to fall down when the first pole falls. Also, all of the poles there are about 50 years old and are fragile wood. They shake when you hit them with your hand. If one car took one out, I would assume that every other pole would fall down. That would be a *LOT* of dead or highly electrocuted people.

They can shut down power lines if need be. I understand that they cant just be turned off lickity split but they can be turned off if you give 1 quick call to say, Teco or someone of that nature.
That's like saying "hey let's play with fire. If we set the house on fire and a couple of us die, someone can still call the fire department to put it out. We've only lost a few lives and half the house -- it's all good!!"
