people to drift with

blah blah blah. just go out and practice, just because we have legal events doesn't mean that we can't go out like we used to and have a good time. the key as i said before is to pick the RIGHT time and RIGHT place.

Think of it as you're back in high school and you dont want to goto class. Only difference is, You want to have fun and not get caught!

Loren, you couldn't have said it better.
I got the best at drifting by two places
1) builders square
2) tampa bay downs parking lot
the cops really dont' mind you in the TBD parking lot on sunday afternoons, they just don't want you there for more than 5-10 minutes. I actually talked to one of them one time, and i asked. "hey do you mind if i do some doughnuts and stuff, a policeman said this was the safest place i could go"
and his reply was
" dont be there all afternoon "

But... isn't there usually stuff going on Sunday afternoons? I've seen stuff going on, but I guess it isn't every Sunday.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not against events at all. I'm just saying it's not like everyone will stop street drfting all of the sudden just because there's events.
I like hachibill's mentality. Just know the risk, If you're okay with it fine. If you're not okay with it no one's twisting your arm.
I personally don't wanna pay to drift just yet. For now I'm happy messing around once and a while (ie: once every 2 weeks or so) since I'm spending all my money fixing up my car.
Also, I see myself as kind of a loner in this town. I doubt I'd wanna go drift in an event with everyone here. Practicing alone feels good.
The only thing I'd benefit from at an event would be that I can push alot harder cuz there's nothing to worry about. But again I don't feel part of this scene, so being there would probably bother me enough to break my concentration.
Again, this is just me. I'm not telling anyone to go out and drift or not to. I don't think either approach is the "right way".

i just went out and particed yesterday, went to a nice secluded place with no one around and didn't bother anyone which means that no cops were involved. if you want to street drift you just have to think like an adult. just pick your time and place were you are comfortable and more than likely you'll be ok. if you have a bad feeling than thats a sine not to do it. Sunday afternoons like now are the time to go drifting.
