I can't help you there. I am not bragging or anything. What I am trying to say is this was all on a completely stock B16 head. I think it is pretty good for it being stock. About the compression ratio out of all my friends here in GA I have the least. A friend of mine drives his everyday on almost 13.5 and still gets 25 to 28 mpg. He also runs 12.5 all motor and full interior. So to say it is to high of compression is your choice, but we have a tuner who knows what he is doin. All of our cars (except mine) have all dynoed out at over 200hp on 93 octane pump gas.

im pretty sure he was making a joke. if he wanted to solve the problem he could o-ring the block or use good metal hg's and use arp headstuds. then only thing hed really hurt if he detonated would most likey be plugs and pistons.

There's more truth to that than you know, I know from personal experience. I love my extra row of head bolts now

You're right, it is your choice, it's just when I think 12.5:1 then A/C, I picture a long stream of green coolant running down the street and steam going everywhere It sounds like it's working for you. Now, 12.5:1 running mid/high 13's is still comical, but hey, it's your car, if you're happy, I'll just leave it alone.

That compression is fine on pump gas daily driven. If the tune is there, there are no problems. Steves car....NA200whp ran 12.9s on street tires and 12.4s on slicks with similiar weight as to what you have. He cut a 1.9 on the street tires and a 1.7 on the slicks. What power are you making? What engine management?

Damn right, I just fired some self tapping screws through the head into the block, think that'll work?
