what the hell u getting into ford motors for....way off topic....i was just stating my opionion but i guess u couldnt take it man...sorry..

I used a ford motor to explain, in the end there is no replacement for displacement, dont know why you're getting offended, I'm using simple factual statements, if you cant see the DISPLACEMENT difference that I was getting at with the weight being the same...hence the 67 mustang being a good choice for my point

im getting offended because ur critisizing everything i am saying...its my opionion.....look at the thread...the guy said no replacment for displacement...not no replacement for a built turbo v8....of course there is always something that can make more power but in that senario the little motor needs a turbo to over come the displacement of the big motor...thats why i said turbo,or nitrous or what have u.....

man, you misunderstand, I'm not critisizing what your saying, and I understand what you mean, I was just saying, most performance cars you cant expect to be stock, whether or not they have a v8 or a 1.3L rotary, and the turbo under normal circumstances may equalize a difference, they may very well have an equalizer of their own

There's no replacement for displacement, that saying came around for a reason. If you really want to blow a wad of cash worth more than your 98 neon, then swap the 2.4. Once its in your going to see more results from the mods than you would on the 2.0. It WILL make more power, the smaller motor just doesnt have the capacity. Sure you can boost the shit out of the 2.0 but your going to fry your internals.

Like you said on the SOHC... dont waste your money

Oh and about the no supercharger comment... Its not that difficult to buy an old supercharger and fab it into your ride. Ive seen people buy used ones off older cars, usually whipplecharger and rig em to fit on their NA Motors. If youve got a tuneable EM you're good to go. As long as you keep your boost low, like 8 lbs or so you should have no problems.

Ive seen older chargers go for chump change on ebay

Only difficult thing is finding belts and making the braces, oh and you may have to get tricky with where you put it.

We had a guy bring in a PT that he just bought used, and he wanted his "Whipple Charger" warrantied.

After telling him repeadly that it wasn't a Chrysler part, he went home and called Chrysler to bitch. A stupid cunt from the zone office calls me and ask's WTF is he talking about? OMG that was a day to mark on the calender.

The topic of supercharging a neon has been beaten to death really on neons.org. There just isn't much space up front for a neon. Sure you can fab this and try to fab that but at what point does cost vs. hp become stupid. If it was such an easy task, I'm sure someone would be driving around in one or some company would of put out a kit already.
