John, I know EXACTLY what you are saying. But let me bring up a few points in my defence.

First, Clint is right in the fact that no one came into this room. It didnt have anything close to the number of people that Honda, Ford, or even the up and comming Nissan room has. And yes, we would just sit and BS in here, not ONLY about our opinions of TR if you read that deep into the threads. Not being rude, but if you also noticed, when a tech question WAS asked in here, we all answered it completely and then when our "job" was done we went back to BSing. Being that there was no traffic in the room besides the 3 of us that frequent the room, we figured there was no harm no foul. Had we been doing this in FFA where EVERYONE reads it, oh yeah that would be asking for it. As I said before, if it was brought to my attention before about how it WAS being noticed by everyone.. it would have stopped.

Second, although it may not matter much to you, most of those threads and discussions were BEFORE I was made a mod. Not that it makes the situation any more right, but its not like the day I became a mod i went around slandering the place.

Third and probably most important.. We were not bashing the site itself, or any of the people who make up the foundation of the site. John, you KNOW I have nothing against you, or any of the other admin/mods i have met. Fordman especially b/c of his track days. The people and the problems that we had and talked about were the exact same people that all the mods talk about in the mod room. They are the percent of people on here that are complete dumbasses and annoy the fuck out of us and piss us off. Dont even try to tell me that you love every single member on this board. And I know what you're going to say -- that you DONT like everyone, but that doesnt mean you'll go and talk shit about them on the same board. Well again, I was in the wrong to do that.. BUT, all people do in FFA and GCC is rip on other people because of their opinions or choices. Thats just part of society.. everyone wont get along with everyone no matter what. And as an ex-mod, i know that the higher powers of this board really wouldnt mind blowing away half the members on here... isnt that what TOTD is??

And No, TR isnt the backbone of my life. It hasnt really given me TOO much, so in return I dont feel like I owe it 30% of my efforts and dedication to things as you, aharon, or whoever else may. I know its a valuable part of your business so you must do everything you can to promote it. I know, "its what you make of it" too, but there's not too much I can make of it. All of the social gatherings I cant make b/c i work nights and weekends. Of the 3 people who frequent this room, i am the only one who lives here so having our own gatherings doesnt work. I dont really come here to have people teach me about my car because if i do need to know something, i have FSMs to read thru, other BBSs to search, and an abundance of other web pages with the info. I will tend to go do those things before I post a question on here then wait for a day for someone to answer it.

I have met you more than a few times John, and you should know im not the kind of person who is just out to get everyone.. or someone who is full of hate, or someone who could give a fuck and just walks over whoever is in the way. This is probably the impression people have of me who dont know who i really am, but so be it. Its a damn internet board.

If thats the only thing you see was going on in here, well thats your opinion. Apparently all the other mods and admins feel the same way and again thats why I chose to not post here. Would YOU hang out at a place where the officials think you're a joke and have nothing good to offer the place? Nope. Thats why I packed my bags and left. I'll go to another place and talk about cars if this is how im looked upon here. As for whoring, do you think I really cared that much about my post count? If I did, would I have made a new name (this one) when I wanted a different one.. instead of having you change it like everyone else? You can zero out this name AND FearThe4Doors for all I care.

I guess this topic is open for comments otherwise it would have been a pm. I happened acrosss TR by accident and lurked for quite a while before even signing up. Since I have a Dodge, I came to the Dodge section to see what was going on. My first impression was that it was pretty stagnant for information. I'm not blaming the past moderator for lack of traffic or lack of information. I came looking for SRT 4 info, and there were no SRT 4 owners on the Dodge forum, hence no SRT 4 info. the moderator couldn't do anything about that. There are usually informational website forums setup specifically for a make and model of car. I came over from SRTforums. Most people looking for information aren't going to come here first. Since I have an SRT 4, I want to go where there are other SRT 4 owners. That's where the info is. Yes, there are a few local owners on TR, but most people will look elsewhere before coming here. I've been a moderator on a couple of forums and I know what it's like when there is no traffic. You want to help, but no one is in need of help. After a while it gets frustrating. I can see how the original concept for the Dodge forum went off track. I'll try and frequent this section more in the future.

We have talked tech in here, and sometimes its hard to find because not all of the threads stick to strictly tech topics. IMHO its hard to talk tech when there is no one asking questions, and quite honestly TR is not the first place I look for my answers simply because I know where or how I can easily find them besides through TR. However if someone does post a tech question here or there is a tech conversation going on then I am usually participating in it.

I mostly posted here because I could talk a mixture of tech and BS with Lori and Jeff, and I will probably still continue to post here just because I check this board out of habit.

As for the SRT4 owners who are now "out of hiding", no one was trying to stop you guys from posting in here. In fact I am sure most of the members in question would have liked it had you guys posted in here. Personally, I just thought you guys were more interested in posting war stories than tech, guess I was wrong.

 

I have been a TR member for quite some time now. This is my second Dodge , and in the middle I had a honda.
The Honda tech section is flowing, the honda for sale is flowing, the honda want to buy is flowing, but let me get back to my point.

There is old school dodge ,and new school dodge. Two different types of vehicles, but mechanics is mechanics and electronics( reference to the SRT PCM) can never change that.

This is definitely not the most useful area for SRT-4 tech tips, but that can change. It doesn't have to be bottom of the list. For my self personally, most of the folks I have seen in here are old skool dodge ( prob before I was a sperm in a nutsack )

I've let a few of the local boys know to stop by here once in a while. Theres quite a handful of us, and I have met majoriy of the Tampa Skilttle crew .

It would be nice to get a blend of old skool and new school. You older guys/gals have much to offer, and its really pathetic to see some reactions over change.

Its a tech forum....sure things will stray, but some topics just do not belong.

So now lets stop bitching, and figure how I can get my skittle to rape scubaru's all day long
