UGH!!! I HATE these comercials. Good people cannot get jobs. If these people had any sence and looked at the current job market there is JACK SHIT for entry level techs. Who the hell is going to hire some guy who was flipping burgers 3 months ago to admin thier business for $50000 a year?!?!?
I got my MCSE about 3 years ago.. It means SHIT now. I am not even going to renew it. I took a CCNA class and cant even see the reason for taking the test at this point. The only thing left untouched is UNIX and just you wait...that will be flooded when they get wind of that as well....or they get a certification for it.

I agree. Ive seen so many people with some kind of certification and still dont know crap about computers. If it wasnt in their book they just get a confused look on their faces. You want something even more useless than MCSE? Try Network+. I passed that without even studying much. Only missed 3 questions out of 60! Granted I have been in networking for a while but nothing that deep.
Im currently (and slowly) studying for my CCNA. Only because that is a field that I want to get in. I need to get away from the Help Desk stuff that I do now. Its driving me nuts!!!!

actually your full blown Cisco stuff is still very very tough to get.. the fact is.. a trained monkey can get MCP/MCSE .. i havent ever bothered.. i know what i know.. and i prefer to let my experience tel the tale.. ima Lotus Notes Engineer.. and i dont have my CLP or anything.. but i work int he top team in the largest lotus notes environment in the world.. so experience counts

WRX where do you work at? Im a Lotus Notes Admin (more like babysitter) at Arthur Andersen (now just Andersen) in Sarasota. And I know we are one of the largest users on Notes around.

Hopefully this summer when I graduate the market will have picked up some.
Oh and bleh I hate those fuckin adverts too. They mislead people into thinking they actually know something worth while when truth is they probably arent any more qualified for an IT job than Corky from Life Goes On.

Yeah fuckers! Oh well In less than 2 years that fucking stupid piece of paper that says Ive given the university 4 years and an assload of money will state Im an ITM major.....
