Quick!!!!
I would like to specialize in the networking field but the university only offers a broad computer science degree. I would like to intern somewhere to get actual experience and possibly get a real job lined up....I could really care less where...hell an internship as a help desk rep would be cool...

Im at SPC(St.Petersburg Colle). Im going for an AS in Cisco Networking. Im going to talk to my counselor if I can get my certs next semester that way I can try and build up some experience before I am done.
well after 10 years in the IT field I said F IT! after the last layoff. Got tired of the dog eat dog and always worrying about whther the company will outsource your ass tomorrow.
I have worked in every area of IT except Programming I have a fistful of certs INCLUDING the coveted Cisco stuff and the useless MS stuff. And now.. do you know what I do?
I fix overhead hoist and cranes
I work in extreme conditions in shipyards power plants mines I get hot nasty dirty and have seriously injured myself 3 times in the last year. BUT no dog eat dog BS and an incredible sense of accomplishment at the end of the day. You make 200 tons of steel do exactly what you tell it to sometime!
Its a blast!
Its a faily business and I did it for years before going into IT. So it was a natural fall back when IT started sucking the big one. I make no money and I am sore every single night. But I am happier now than I ever was in IT.
I would go back to IT but only as Director of a small-medium business that wasnt into the whole Politically correct bs and always doing the employee revolving door crap either. I will climb steel for 20 more years before I go back to the back stabbing bastards of IT.
