i fucked my neck up, the heaver the helmet, the sooner it starts to hurt on long rides. the lighter helmet lets me ride longer.

negative! civilians like you will never understand, i would rather die from a broken neck then slow my unit down. heart, grit, mental toughness is something you ether have or don't.
I suspect years of wearing a kevlar hemet with NOD's hanging off the front of it is what did it to my neck or maybe the hard landings from jumping or maybe combatives training, or maybe endless hours of laying in the prone position trying to keep your head up looking though the scope in full battle rattle. i don't know what makes it hurt but i'm not going to make it worse by wearing a heavy helmet if i don't have to.

that link makes sense, i had a hjc helmet a while ago and at 70mph it felt like a box a of bricks was trying to pull my head back and up
