i have the Akuma phantom II helmet, its the lightest helmet i ever felt, and when i smashed into that suv head 1st, the helmet saved my life. the vents and visor smashed off the helmet but it did its job.

the best part of the helmet is how light it is the 2nd is the photochromic visor it came with. it tints in sunlight and stay clear at night or though tunnels and other dark areas...

i sent this picture to akuma told them how it worked for me and they sold me a 2nd helmet for $200 bucks (half off)

i want to try the carbon fiber bell star with the photochromic visor but at almost $700 plus $120 for the visor the akuma is a much better deal

 

There is a saying! How much is your head worth? For me only top of the line Arai or Shoei it depends on the type of head you have. Round heads shoeis, oval heads arai. Arai, Shoei, Soumy, and a few others are the only brands I will wear. I have seen cheap helmets split in half before causing head injuries.

Dont skimp on cheap helmets buy you a nice helmet, trust me you will enjoy riding better because the wind noise and fit is so much better. Ok, you spent 5-7 grand on the bike spend 5-800 on a nice helmet. Theres tons of good deals on helmets on ebay, you will find closeouts, or overstock deals.

 

thats true to a degree 1000bucks for a helmet is a ripoff. my akuma helmet was $390 and saved my life, didn't crack or anything. you don't need to spend a ton of money for good protection, if you want to look cool and have the newest and latest graphics then spend the $1000 on the new helmet. if you want to save a buck then don't get the fancy shit.

helmets have test rating so we know they are safe snell & dot... you don't need to spend a alot to be safe

 

I have crashed plenty of times and have smacked my head plenty of times. I only trust Arai Rx7! Sure you dont need to spend a grand on a helmet, you do not need cool graphics either. Ebay has tons of deals you just have to be patient and look.

My old buddies helmet that split open was a cheapie I think HJC it was Snell and Dot. You gotta protect that nugget lol

my best friend and girl both use the icon mainframe, i almost bought the carbon fiber lifeform mainframe, the white and carbon looks good and its pretty damn light. if akuma didn't offer me 50% off i think i might have tried the icon
