i ride corners and i get as low as i can i want the stickiest tire so i know it will hold, i like the profile of the pp 2ct cause of how tall they are, but the pures seem almost as tall and i hear they are lighter and have a softer rubber further up the tire then the pp 2ct

what do you think of the new pilot pures vs pilot powers 2ct

edit: the rails in the pic i provided looks like they are missing the little puck slider end piece.
yes thats me

the mushroom can go black but your gonna have to get it powdercoated i dont think they come black

as far as tires go, on the street i only trust 2cts. i havent tried pures but as hard as i ride these 2cts do just fine. on the track though street tires make me nervous.

Don't lean into a corner more then needed. The profile of the Pure is different then the PP2. It doesn't tip in as fast but it is seems to feel more stable mid corner. Your right they are lighter and softer further up. Transitions are much easier. Go ahead and try them. You will not be dissapointed. Best tire I have ever used. They won't last as long as a PP2 but I'm fine with that.

the mushroom is metal?

the pures are 2ct too, duel compound shit, like the pp 2ct.

i need to get a set of tires next week i haven't decided which ones to get...

i would like 4k miles out of a rear tire but quality is really what i want

Reread my post! I mentioned a Good quality slider being a mushroom type (like woodcraft) will not protect your fairings if you drop the bike. It will only protect the frame.

What track is that Jennings? What times do you run out there?

Listen to me or do not listen to me! For frame sliders you will want the shortest, that will give you best protection but will not protect your fairings.

If your a stunter or someone who doesnt ride twistys or trackdays or race then the Race Rails would be a good option for slower accidents. THE LONGER THE FRAME SLIDER IS THE MORE LEVERAGE FORCE IT WILL PUT ON YOUR FRAME AND ENGINE MOUNT.

I personally would rather protect my Frame and Engine, because that costs a lot more then fairings.

update, powers race rails went out of business, but i found a shop that claimed to have one set of race railz left that would fit my bike, i bought them but they didn't fit... so i sent them back (still waiting for a refund) and bought some R&G Aero Style sliders with their matching rear cotton reels (spools), and some frame hole covers. everything looks great and the sliders came with a tool to help you cut the hole in the fairings in just the right spot.

i also went with the power Pure tires ($290 plus tax for the pair) i only have 50 miles on them but they are amazing so far. the turn in isn't as quick as the PP2ct's but its close and alot smoother and from mid turn out they feel very planted and solid. as long as they wear good these will be the best tires i have ever used. i want to try the Q2's cause i hear they are great too and cheaper!

thanks for the help guys

Whoa man no need to be agressive... Frame sliders are more useful at slow speed drops, Ive seen them snap off motor mounts and bend the motor mounts at various speeds. I have also seen the sliders hook into the ground too and cart wheel a bike. Its all those worst case scenerios, but then again like you said you would rather protect your motor and frame with the best protection. So your saying that 30$ plastic pucks with shitty entry grade steel bolts are going to protect better then a 200$ steel rail that attaches at 2 points for more rigidity with a soft aluminum puck? Im putting my money on the parts with more structural integrety...

there were other off brand rails but they all mounted in different spots then the powers railz and to me the b2 rails looked like they would hit my legs. and they didn't look as nice as the powers. the R&G aero sliders for my bike are the best looking sliders i could find, and for protection i think they mount in the best spot on the bike. which happens to be where the radiator overflow is. but they give you a new over flow with a hole in so you can mount a slider though it.
