True fucking story.

The only thing I can possibly think of as to why your friend would lose this if he fought it is because the statue states that the tag has to be securely mounted. And lets face it, to an asshole cops or a bunch of people who dont know how wonderful and useful zip ties are then they might percieve that as unsecured.

listen if you go in there and state that then you lose...let me tell you from experience how you need to play it...we have all been there so we all know the drill you get to ask the super troopers questions in front of the judge so ask what was the reason you pulled me over? if he says your tag was blowing every were your almost fuked if he says it was zip tied your almost fuked if he says the same thing he said during the stop"this is 1 of those hid a plates so you can run from the cops" your golden... he did not ticket him because it was zip tied he ticketed him because he thought it was a hid a plate wich yes does carry that fine...if he says in court that that is the reason then you break out all your pictures and ask if it looks like anything is changed...if he says no you show the judge and say see...also ask the officer if he found a switch to flip up the plate or if he tried to flip it or anything along those lines to support/confirm his hide a plate theory...if not then why did he still issue the ticket? see were im going with this? you guys are looking to into the ziptie thing...it was not the problem it was that he thought it was a hide a plate...also make sure to wear a suit...not pants and a nice shirt not dressy clothes but a damn suite you would be supprised what it does...i have actually had many judges criminal and traffic make a comment and even change their verdict/oppinion on me and my case due to the suite...oh yea and please speak proper in front of the judge..no cussing,slang,loosing your temper(unless the case is over and you lost lol) or anything like that

^i agree..it will help to prove that he ended up saying he pulled u for one thing, and when it wasn't that(a flip plate) then he proceded to find another way to issue the citation he wanted to give. after he admitted to u that he thought it was a hide away plate and saw that it wasn't, he had no probable cause to continue on from there, unless he let u go and pulled u over again in 5 feet....

on another note.....FHP has begun doing random stops to do vehicle inspections during day time hours...this is because florida has no regular state vehicle inspections, so it is to aid drivers in keeping properly maintained vehicles since most here just put gas in their car and go...

it sucks how with the new laws, they can't just give bikers fix it tickets. its a shame how a DUI ticket costs less than this.
at you saying a DUI ticket cost less...
here ill tell you what i've paid so far...

1200$ fines and court fee's for day 1
250$ DUI schooling
50$x12week consoling=$600
Probation 12months*55$=$660
suspended license+reinstating(sp?) it=$300
Insurance coverage +$250 a month for 3 years(FR-22)=$9000
Lawyer= $3000
Community service 50hours or $500
Court day and more fines $600
This charge staying on your record for 75yrs... priceless
----------------------------------------------
total= $16110

so you might want to rephrase or know what you are talking about when you say that DUI's are less then a fucking license plate ticket...i would of been more happy to get that ticket then a DUI. Fight it in court.

the fee's went from $500 to $1000 min last july.

then it's manditory to take the DUI class, probation, suspended license for 6 months then you have to reinstate it.

lawyer cost me 3k. which i wish i would of just done it myself.

passed of oct 2 yrs ago you have to carry an FR-22 for 3 years which means you have to carry 100/300/50k liability. and most likely your insurance that you're with now is going to drop you... buh bye statefarm...

50 hours of community service, i was only allowed to pay off half so that was $250 then i had to do my 25 other hours.

during probation they charge you FDLE, filing fee's and everything else and their mother. which usually you only have to do probation for 6 months you can possibly get off early term. if you dont fuck up. during probation you're not allowed to drink, go to bars or clubs or any place thats main purpose is to sell alcohol.

after the dui class you have to go to see a consolor to see if you have to go to consoling and they make you do a test that repeats itself 100 times... 1 wrong answer and you are considered an alcoholic and they make you go to the 12 weeks which is the min.

over the past 2 years they made DUI's more expensive and such... they caught me sleeping in mcdonalds drive thru (i can sleep anywhere from my accident) and i really wasnt drunk i slept for about an hour/hour and a half hrs at a friends house woke up and wanted to go get some food then go home. i walked the line fine (which is surprising because with my back problems my balance is way off) but doing the 1 legged stand fucked me up... the drive thru line didnt move for 20mins in the drive thru so i said fuck it put it in P and rested my head causing me to fall asleep.

out of the 22k i got from my accident it's pretty much almost all spent, and more then half of it is on this DUI, it's def not worth it... now that i got my license back i have $100 in my wallet because if i decided to even have 1 drink im calling a cab.

if you get a DUI like i said they make you out to be an alcoholic which IMO isnt right, and even my probation officer (he's really cool) said they're only out to get your money.

then even passed a new law last yr saying if you refuse to blow or if you blow more then a .16 you have to have that machine in your car... i blew a .14 and a .13.... alcohol gets out of your system every hour at .05...

cliffs... if you want to drink and drive, go buy a harley.

the 4 harley guys i work with drink every single night and ride home. been doing it for 30 plus years. and never had a cop question them even once.

the phone rang today, my boss answered, someone said something. he said, i get off at 4, will be at the bar by 4.08

yes i work with a bunch of fucking drunks, that all look like they are 85 years old and are hardly 40.

i hate to say it but i am glad you got a DUI because now i dont have to worry that my kids are in the car that you lost control of and hit while having a small buzz and driving.(even though you didnt, it happens everyday. hence why it is illegal) otherwise i am very glad for you to bring $100 wherever you go i do the same even though i dont drink but i would NEVER drink and drive. its dumb and soooo not worth it as we all clearly see stated here.

I think it's ridiculous that the goverment expects everyone that goes to a bar, to catch a ride home...
