get it. i got lasik done like 4 weeks and couldnt be more happy. eyes are 20/10 now. the 1st day after they were 20/30 but that was right after the surgery... i went to updegraff spent an extra buck for better care of my eyes... and i would pass on going oversea's to get my eyes worked on, ya they know what they are doing because they've done x amount of surgerys blahblahblah i could careless it's my eyes and i want the best doctor around the US which happens to be updegraff... they dont use the typical razor blade cutting there, they use laser to cut the eye flap then the laser to reshape the eye so it's quicker healing time and more comfortable... i didnt feel shit, they gave me a valume(sp?) and numb the eyes, only thing you feel is a little bit of pressure then 30seconds for each eye and you are done...

the only downfall which isn't really much is the after care. gotta do 1set of drops every hour the following day and a second set of drops every 4 hours... after the 1st day then just the 2 sets of drops 4 times daily... at night before you go to sleep you have to put artificial tear cream in your eyes for a week. then after a week you just have to put artificial tear drops in your eyes for around 3months until the nerve endings are all healed up... im actually going to the beach this weekend and cant wait to actually throw my skimboard down onto the water and be able to see even though some water jumped up into my eyes!!!!

lasik is seriously the best thing i've ever invested my money into.

I have heard to many bad storys about it.

I know someone that had great luck the first time, but went back for the touch up and cells started to grow somewhere they shouldn't have and it fucked the whole thing up.

I'd be scared to have it done to me. but then again I don't have to deal with glasses all day ever day either. so maybe that has something to do with it.

eh there will always be bad stories about any surgery... shit happens; but i talked to many people before and they all loved it so i said fuck it... my left eye had an allergy to contacts called GPC so i couldnt wear my contacts more then 5hours, then i'd have to throw them away, with out them drying up and annoying the shit out of my eye... i hate glasses so i said fuck it im getting lasik... there are a ton more good stories then bad, i say if mike wants to get it done pay the extra 1500 or so and go to updegraff, i've never heard a bad story come from them.... ya i paid 2600 for each eye but it's well worth it.

boba tea fag^

i could careless wtf you people do, i went to updegraff and i am satisfied to the fullest... not many people have 5200 to spend on their eyes so whatever go to a cheap place and get your eyes fucked with... just remember you get what you pay for. oh and as i can recall updegraff has never had anyone come back for a "touchup" like these cheapo depot places do.

I was told the touch up are just like years later when your eyes change like normal.

I don't think its because its cheap o. its normal for your eyes to get worse as you get old.

oddly enough, I only know 3 people that's had it done. but in all 3 cases, done at different times, at different places. something has gone wrong. none of them I could call cheaper than normal.

I hope 10 years from now your not one of them.

can only hope, but for-say i do need a touch up i will pay the cost of it because it is well worth it... being able to open my eyes after im asleep and see the clock clear across the room is great. i hated contacts, i always fell asleep in them from either passing out at a friends house drunk, or just taking a nap after work.

by all means my surgery was probably more expensive because they didnt use the razor to cut my eye.

So I should be going to visit my friend tomorrow, he's like an hour away or so at his parents while he heals up, but I did do some investigative work on his bike today:

Leaks I've noted so far:

-Coolant hose at the water pump
-coolant hose at the block
-oil cooler fitting
-oil pan

It's hard to say if any are related to the accident though, I'm guessing the oil cooler is probably from that as most of the actual fluid leaking onto the ground is oil and appears to be originating from that point. The coolant is only a slight slight leak. And on this bike, as most Ducati's from what I've read, the kick stand is bolted up to the oil pan and in one of the pictures you can see where the bracket appears to be cracking from the oil pan.

Well I ran out of daylight and don't want to mess with working on it in the cold and dark using a damn flashlight lol ... so I can't say for sure if the pan is cracked, just my prelim ... but one of the oil coolers' brackets did snap, I think the rail the bracket is part of is replaceable though, otherwise I think he would have to replace the horizontal cylinder's valve cover.

His brother is not wanting to total it though cause he's afraid his rates will go way up, as he has a C6 Z06 and 4 other bikes fully insured from what I understand.

My friend has already found a front wheel for like $300~400 he said, and full plastics for ... I can't remember but it wasn't all that bad (his right main and lower fairing are fine)
