ahh the age old question. I wont tell you which bike to get but ill tell you this. Do yourself a favor and take the MSF course first, learn the basics. Also think about where you see yourself after a while. If you get a smaller cruiser/sport bike then you might find yourself wanting something bigger soon. Dont let the sport bike image and the performance of the bikes scare you away, you can kill yourself on a scooter if you dont ride smart. Go look at bikes everywhere, find prices, sit on them see how they feel and then make your decision.

Sorry that I this is my first post. I learned of this site from my friend Chris last night at Hot Import Night, and I told him that I was looking into buying a motorcycle and he said to come to this site for help. But to the ones that were trying to help me thank you. I'm not like afraid and I'm def. looking into going to take classes after I buy a bike. I'm thinking of a 600 cc engine will be good. I saw a 250 cc Kawasaki Ninja, CycleTrader.com, but I found out that
it wasn't a good bike. So now I'm looking onto something bigger than 250.

When i was looking to buy my first bike i sorta went by what i have ridden before which in the bike world was nothing but i do have a 660rr raptor so i thought a 750 would be enough... No one told me to make sure it was EFI but i will tell you to make sure it is because i got stuck with an 06 suzuki katana 750 which isn't that bad for a first bike but after 3k miles on it its very boring to drive, because of the slowness of carburetors(sp) and how damn heavy the bike is. my payments are only $89 a month though.

Well my parents are going to buy it cash because I'm selling my boat. They aren't looking into anything too high like $4000, because I know that I'm going to fall several times off this first bike. I was looking again on cycle trader and I found this one that seems promising, I'm just not sure. CycleTrader.com

the ignorance in here is giving me a headache... I would recommend taking the MSF course first before you get a bike so you know how to ride what you get so you dont wreck your shit... carry on
