Default Rear tire life?

I have an 06 R1, bought it brand new, I just turned 8,000 miles on it. I now need a new tire for the rear and thought the stock dunlop lasted so long I might as well get the same tire. Maybe someone knows of a different tire they could recommend based on their own experience? Also I was wonder if anyone has gotten more than 8,000 miles off a rear tire? If so what brand was it? Keep in mind I dont do any burnouts .

You must be soft on that throttle to get 8,000 miles

lol, well the first 1000 was a break in period, i never took the bike over 6000 RPM for the first 1000 miles. The tire is worn fairly evenly, of course the center is worn a little more than the sides. I do ride fairly mellow because of the traffic, but when given the right conditions I'v been known to open it up, I have had the bike up to 175 MPH coming back from Daytona.

Squid on!

Hit up the north run with us sometime if you're into turns.

To get 8000 miles out of a sport tire is very unusual. You might want to try a sport touring tire if your wanting a tire that gets some milage.

FYI: Because someone is light on the throttle doesnt make them a squid.

Does it affect you that much that some random guy 1500 miles away went and paid his own money for a 1000?

Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

You must cruise on that thing

My power rear looks pretty good still after about 2500 miles, at least half tread left.. and I'm not nice to it at all...
