but even with that said i will always be a chevy guy and can't bring myself to spend my money on a import car. even thou from years of working on both, i like the way they build things. but as long as gas stays cheap here I'll be buying a V8 with push rods.

$3 gal. is pushing it thou.... if i didn't already have a car I'm happy with i may just look into a turbo 4.... and it seems only the japs will build a 4cyl turbo RWD.... and i don't know how to drive a FWD car! haha

I'm not happy about it at all but we pretty much build and sell junk in the eyes of the rest of the world and even most of our own people are smart enough to see it. doesn't mean for a sec that we like it.

GM is beginning to step their game up though. The Solstice is RWD I beleive and there is talk that a turbo version is in the works. I think the "American" companies are finally beginning to realize that the majority of folks don't want a 400hp 10mpg hot rod. Rather something they can drive to work and school and it be RELIABLE.

yep i heard about that and love the idea but i bet the go roots supercharger cause they are a retarded ass company lately....

but i will keep hope and if they do it will be because people have voted with there money buy buying what they like not whatever junk they stick in front of us because it says made in the u.s.a. on it.

I'm all for being proud of our country but i won't buy crap because of it.... we need to step up, because i will go out of my way to buy just as good but not worse.

See, I think the idea that foreign cars are better than domestic cars is a myth. My sister drives a Chevy Cobalt and I see no difference between it and the Honda Civic. It's reliable, has a stupid warranty, and gets great mileage. I see a lot of old Cavaliers on the road, just as much as I see old Civics. I think Americans for some reason live under this idea that foreign is better, and I ain't buying into it. If I can help it, I'm buying a domestic product.

10 MPG hot rod? Not since 1972. Last I checked, the LS1-based F-Body is capable of nearly 30 MPG while generating 300 HP. Again, you all just give in to the myth that the Japanese are better, with nothing to really back it up but hearsay.

its not a myth....

take a older cavy 2.2 apart and take apart a older civic motor and compair...

the honda is built with better parts and smarter design.... hell look at the old supra inline 6cyl... no one in this country has ever sold that strong of a bottom end from the factory.... damn thing will make 800hp without cracking a seal. i will say the new zo6 motor is a good step but where was that 10 years ago like the import guys were building? oh yeah...we had lt1's back then that can't go 50,000 miles without being po's in stock from.... make 800 with it and see what happens.

don't even get me started on the bullshit ford mod motor...... god i hated working on those things.

the newer ecotech 4 from gm is better but that's only because they are chasing the imports and thought the nopi racing thing would make for a good way to sell more so they built it better. hard to sell things when your lossing because of blown up shit like the old gm 4's would do.

Umm what the hell are you talking about...mercedez, mclaren, bmw, lotus, vw??? Ok maybe you haven't been in a mercedez in the past 15 years, but the newer S-class mercedez have over a 140 computers/modules communicating with one another in that chassis, the only reason wiring in your own stereo/alarm/etc is so hard is because they want you to pay them to do it. They have the most advanced diagnostic tools that make the tech-2 look like an etchesketch. I just thought i'd make you think twice about that dumb comment.
I buy american when at all possible. I work for GM. I bought my nissan frontier 5 years ago because its 97% built and 100% assembled in tennessee. I'd love to own an american bike, but they haven't made one worth comprimising for yet. Some people are losing the point here...what frankie is saying is that none of us will have jobs if we keep outsourcing every fucking single product the american public buys!
What makes me sick is the fucking desert oil tycoons charging so much for a barrell of oil, and another thing that pisses me off is all those fucking protesters with the "our government stinks" signs. now i am finished. sorry, rough night last night.

Man, Murdock hit the nail on the head (but no cheese?!?, seriously??? )....U.S. stuff looks good compared to most foreign stuff, then you start taking it apart and see how much more well built most foreign stuff is. Trust me, I had a Cavalier and a F-150 and my sis had a S-10, and I have a Nissan now and also a Civic. Not only are most foreign cars built better, but they last longer and are more efficient, etc. Case and point: one book I had read said how a Honda rod looked just like a Cavalier rod, but looking closer the Chevy rod was just a hair longer and fatter where it wasn't needed (even though the displacement of both were the same) and therefore Chevy had to put more meat on the top of the block, then raise the hood height, etc. Per car it ended up being like $150 extra, but just like you said Frankie, look how many Cavy's are on the road....dassa lotta doh! That's not to say I would buy a Tundra over a F-150 for towing. Same goes for the tire. Just buy from a company that makes a better product, not just because they're made in the U.S. Is that still not enough to back up a "myth....hearsay?" Irony: writing this while the Camry commercial in the backround says "When does the best selling car in America...." Haha.

I will say this though, Chevy sure has gotten that LS push-rod motor right. Suprisingly effiecient and still makes hosspower and all that "Made in U.S.A." torque, haha.

German auto electronics, as well as their overall mechanical build, are wayyyyyyy to complex. Why go from A to J to R then back to B when you can just go from A to B? That's the only real thing killing their top notch build quality. That stupid wire controlling the windshield below 50-degree 1/2" or below-sized hail sensor rubs up against the left front tire center tread depth temperature sensor wire and shorts out. And then you can't find the short because it's under a thousand other wires. Who needs 140+ computers in one single car!?!?!?! A street car ain't a racecar!

And we all can't move over to Japan....they're already too full......and that's why I'm moving to Korea, bwahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Mmmmmmmm......the internet......can I have that with cheese?

Book Marked!

Please post the e-mail responce from Dunlop if/when you get it back.
I'm interested to hear what they have to say.

I'm sure the design of the tire was created in the U.S ,but I understand your anger for having to put a Japan logo on an All "Made In USA" Bike.
