Not to date myself too badly....
But 20 years ago we would meet at the "Steak & Shake" on Fowler on Saturday Nights.
Then ride to Gandy, Tyson and/or 30th Street in packs up to 50 bikes.
Some nights when we would arrive at Gandy, there would be hundreds of bikes and just as many cars.
Lots of Racing.... Lots of Police... Lots of "Rider Down" stories... this of course was pre-internet

Please be careful... a momentary lapse in judgement can change or life forever.... if you're lucky.

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”

This is why i dont ride too often with packs of bikes. Too many people making bad decsions. I just went on a ride a few weeks ago in memory for Chris Melin. It was at Quaker Steak and Lube and took place ona sunday. With in the first 1/4 mile of the ride you have guys pulling wheelies past a pack of 50 bikes. Bikes going 100mph past bikes going 50mph. People riding with no helmets. This is supposed to be a ride for somebody who just died and some people can not show any self control. I wonder what the family thought when they see people riding in that manner when thier son who i think was only 20 years old just died? Sad to say but this is proof of the maturaty of some people and they dont belong on bikes. I love to race and be dumb but there is a time and place for everything. Rip
