Oh yeah.... the .org has all you ever wanted to know about speed and busas documented...

Here's a couple of visuals for ya.

First is a spread sheet that shows the calculated speed of a Busa with 17/42 gearing (up 2 in the rear).

Second is a chart showing the theoretical RWHP required for a Busa to go 200mph.

Im just curious as to why you got a 1000cc anyways?

Statistacally this is what happens to 1000cc motorcycles piloted by new riders

Do NOT become a supporting factor.

^sounds like some cheesy tabacco commercial. But seriously.
Come on Tyler... I need another 1K... don't discourage him

Just let me know when you get the 1K and want to go for a ride.

biggest bike i ever owned CC wise was a zx9r...My 06' 636 is way faster than that. there's no use to a 1000cc unless you've been riding for 5+years, or you're like 6'4" or like 250+ lbs. Experience is the best reason to go that high though. i know someone who is like 5'8" and 160lbs and has a crapload of experience and rides an R1 like its second nature. Controlled wheelies at 100+mph. Get experience before you kill yourself.

Thanks for all the replies, I really hope he gets the point. Too much to lose just to tell your buddies "I think I was going 200mph"

Heard a rumor about some fool burrying the speedo at 220mph running in excess of 20psi of boost... I think he actually blew it up also

Yes, and then his wife found out, sold all of his motorcycles and bought him a dodge caravan instead. For his safety, of course
