I didn't justify it one bit, since it's a completely unjustifyable act. I just said it was probably safer than popping wheelies in 5 o'clock traffic. Never once did I say it was okay to do. You can't tell me that whacking back a couple of whiskeys and cruising home at the speed limit is as dangerous as being up on one in traffic and then running from the police in the same traffic. What am I seriously in danger of, falling over and scraping some expensive chrome? Let's get realistic.

Eh, it's gotta be pretty hard to shoot at somebody. That's probably the last thing the officer wanted to do. I do hope that kid gets some time in the clink though. They should make him wear a dunce cap too.

well first of all it was at 7:30pm not rush hour traffic so he wasn't endangering that many people's lives although none less he did endanger lives, he made a stupid ass mistake and now he's paying the consequenses but, i can't say that if I was in his position i would have done any different.First of all lets be realistic he was in tarpon springs all cops are dickheads in tarpon so automatically he was looking at reckless endangerment, doing a wheelie, speeding 20+ which is automatic suspension on your license, eitherway he was going to get into big trouble so he took his odds and ran with it. He has a faster vehicle (not as fast as motorolla)and had a slight time advantage, but if he would have just rode normal and at the speed limit he could have prevented all that so what he fucked up leave it at that i would rather do that than drink and drive on main streets at night but i have drank and drove 50cc bikes on a closed road with all gear not to mention we were only doing like 10m.p.h. huge difference than 55m.p.h.

I guess it comes down to preference. I don't see too much risk in knocking a couple back and then taking the old lead sled home at the speed limit without a car in sight. I see a big risk in pulling the front wheel up and speeding excessively at 7:30pm when all of the bad drivers and old people are out on the road. To each his own I suppose, but I'm still going to maintain that the kid in the story is a fucking idiot and should spend a little time in county.

Just think about Tarpon Springs. 7:30pm means hot teenage blonde girls, on their phones, in their little mustangs or camaros that daddy bought them, on US19. I don't even want to get on 19 at ALL at 7:30pm, let alone on one wheel at 90mph.

frank.........

stop it. justifing drinking and riding is as pointless as trying to justify wheelies for the other said and just as dumb if not worse from getting pulled over point of view. yes running added to that but still let it go. in the real world your just as bad as him you just can't run because your drunk and will crash and its not fast enough to try.

as mush as you don't want to hear it both sides are wrong. from a safe said it all depends on the person. you may ride fine drunk and he may be great at wheelies. in that case nether is all that unsafe but cops do not judge the act of breaking the law based on how well you do it.

I think I've said it was wrong more than I've said it was right, so I don't know what you're talking about. Also, I would never run from the police, even stone sober, so that's a moot point.

My main button is the kid has no respect for the law or the officer, who is a human being, that he was charging towards. I think his crime should be punished accordingly. Just because he enjoys a similar hobby to me does not invoke my compassion. All motorcyclists are not my brothers and sisters.
