Not at all... this is my first Suzuki... always been a Kawasaki / Yamaha man.
But I get to tell ya... the K5 would be my choice for a 1K bike... not because it is a Suzuki.
....but because it is currently "the" number one bike out (based on non-biased* reviews in print and on-line).
With that said... I do not think that any of us would be able to notice a difference in power.... they are al so close.

i'm going to disagree the new gixxer is about 5lbs lighter has a wee bit more power and more lowend torque.. as for the twistiees my good friend runs 1:22's on a stock 99 r6 at jennings was absolutly killing 1000rrs and R1

i'm still learning but i'll be there soon enough i ran a 1:38 my first time at jennings... also my gsxr1000 was wrecked... no plastics no areo just motor,frame,tank,rider... probably lost about 8-10hp due to low pressure to the airbox and when i was in 3rd and up my suit was acting like a parachute... keep in mind i'm 300lbs and i beat a bunch of noobs in the novice class with ease 600 750 1000 what ever was in my way got passed...

then the reality check came when i moved up to intermediate and got passed by a 125cc 60hp 168lbs twisty machine but held my own for about 5 laps until i got scared (hit a rumble strip at 130+ and almost lost the rear)

You just contadicted your own post ?

You said you were passing people on 600s,750s and other 1000s,and you give the reason for so that it was your bike that was out doing them? Then you say how you were passed by a 125?Once again the bikes are all so close that its all rider, congrats on wipping ass in the novice class.

anyone know the colors for the 06 zx10 yet.....

i think its going to come down to looks for me. and maybe the aftermarket but seems like both have about the same there too.

why the hell does the R1 have to be so damn far behind at the 1/4. i really like the look and the underseat exh' just hate being last on the interstate ride home from the north run.

the guy on the 125cc was beating everyone at a track. jennings is a smaller track its real technical, a smaller bike has the advantage ask anyone who races there. I believe the new gsxr1000 is an exception it weighs the same as a 600 it is thin and nimble like a 600 but has more power then a hayabusa.

i was in the intermedate class caught up in traffic when the 125 squeezed through the tinyist little gap i traffic... i got that pass on video its amazing the amount of corner speed it carried through traffic
