Bike suggestions
Looking for a bike soon. I am inexperienced in traffic but know how to ride. I plan on taking Florida's mandatory motorcycle course in order to aquire my motorcyle endorsement.
With gas prices so high I need something that's good on gas...bike or Insight? lmao.... I'll be riding at night or out in the country mainly (little - no traffic), and sometimes to/from work. I'm 5'7 with short legs -- I can touch the balls of my feet on the Katana. I will need either a short bike (ie. Katana) or have my bike lowered (won't be doing flat-tracking or the like). For reference, I cannot touch both feet on a GSX-R. A little better on a new 636, but still have to lean to one side -- do not feel comfortable.
I would very much like a liquid-cooled bike, but don't know if there will be anything in my budget 2-3 months from now ($2-$3k). Experienced riders, chime in. What kind of bike would you guys recommend for a fairly new rider? Possibly a Katana, maybe a CBR? ZX-6/7? Triumph TT? (just kidding...). I want a sport / sport-touring bike, full-fairing, 600cc preferably.
Trying to explore my options and get some prices.
Thanks,
Evan

With a budget of only 2-3k its gunna be realy hard to find a bike..
Might wanna save up a lil bit more. Or maybe put 3k down and finance the rest.
Any 600cc will be fine... You just need to see which is best for you.

Try a Bandit 600, SV650, GS500, or YZF600

Do you really have to start a thread every time you go on a ride and see a guy with no helmet on?
Does it affect you that much that some random guy 1500 miles away went and paid his own money for a 1000?
Do we really have to fight over who uses the back brake or not?
Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

First, There's nothing wrong with the TT other than it may be too much bike for you.
Look at a mid to late 90's 600, they generally have a lower seat height.

I really like my 2000 zx6R and I paid 3800. I would recommend looking at a 98-99 zx6r. It would be a little cheaper and it is almost the same bike except the headlights.
