No one can sue you any other way than Civil. The State or the US can prosecute you in Criminal court. Basic Law.

A lot of people only carry 25k liability, 50k bodily injury and 25k property damage.
Anything over these amounts they hold the person responsible for.
I doubled mine, costs more, but just a short stay in the hospital if I hit someone and they are over my insurance limits.

Good luck, hope it all works out ok for you

They can't touch you until your policy is completely maxed out. Same thing happened to me 2 years ago. Dumb bitch hit me, and then tried suing me for $50k when she found out I had $500k in coverage. Not sure if they have settled yet even. Last time I knew they were only offering her like $5k or so.

Someone hit you AND is now suing you? How the hell does that work?

Because piece of shit Temple Terrace cops didn't take two seconds to look at the accident scene and look at the damage to my car and notice that there was no way in hell I could have been at fault, but cited me anyways. That's why the ins. company tried lowballing the hell out of her, because they didn't believe I was really at fault when I explained the accident to them.
