Oh yeah, it costs anywhere from 0-possibly $100 depending what shims you need doing it your self...but if you go to the dealer you will "get raped"...in the ass, if I may add

 

Can you post more info on doing the valve adjustment what kind of tools are needed etc...

I just got a '97 Ducati Monster 900 that I'm 100% positive needs some adjustment, it's got 2200mi on it, yeah insanely low I know, you should see the price i paid for it... stupid cheap

Ducati is like the BMW/Mercedes of the car world, I'll vote for sticking with the 636 and get 95% of the performance for 60-70% of the cost of the Duc and far less "cost of ownership"

I rode a 748 once.... A 600 feels sooooo much faster.

Before you buy a Duc.... please ride it. You might not like it. They ride WIERD....

 

and they sound like the're about to break down
