Default Best car battery...

Long story short I need a new battery ASAP as mine just tested half the rated cranking amps due to the battery being 7 years old now . I was wondering what others thought of certain batteries and their experience. So let's here it, what battery do you have and what do you think is the best? How prone are non AGM/Gel/Dry Cell batteries to spills under racing conditions?

I'm a fan of the Odyssey dry cell batteries. I've used the PC625 in a couple cars. Plenty of juice for the typical 4-banger, and as a dry cell, there's nothing to spill. Super-lightweight, super-small, super-reliable, and really not all that expensive.

With Braille and Optima and such, you're paying a lot extra for a big brand name. (and before the Odyssey secret started getting out, you could get one for $80... now they're over $100)

We were just having a discussion about the Braille = Deka connection on another forum. The Deka version of the Braille is less than 1/2 the cost. For example...

Braille B2618, $208 MSRP: Braille Battery USA &nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp Lighter • Stronger • Faster - B2618

Deka ETX18L, $80 shipped from Tri-state: Tri State Battery Online Catalog
