Turn out was low... 8 or 9 cars/trucks. Apparently, plenty of folks committed, but then just didn't show up. Too bad, 'cause it was a good time.

Entries were very down. Probabley the lowest yet. But we were still able to have the event. For as few people that we had to work, things didn't go all that bad. I broke my car too. It's time for me to look up polyurethane motor mounts.

The SE-R broke?!?!!! I'm sorry to hear that, but you'll have it back up to snuff in no time. I do know that feeling though... my XR was my daily driver for 4 years while I built and banged on it along the way, and it suffered several failures at events. It about broke my heart a bit when it did. But I learned to be a bit philosophical about it... when it breaks, build it stronger, and keep at it. I'm sure you're the same way.

It's not so bad. If I could pick one of the four motor/trans mounts to blow out, it would have been the one that broke. I'm able to drive it gently until I get a reacement.

BTW, did anyone get any pics today? I told my wife it was like autocross on dirt, to which she replied "You did what?!?!!!" Seems she doesn't quite believe that I'd take my car out on a dirt track.

Wearing out a rubber peice is not breaking a spec-v it's par for the course in 70,000 miles I had to replace every mount and bushing on mine with poly. And Johnny doubled my mileage on his spec.

True enough... though something as simple as a worn rubber mount can end very very badly. For example, an engine mount failed in my '70 Mustang while simply pulling out into traffic briskly... the motor lifted, tore the upper coolant hose in half and gushed coolant everywhere, while at the same time the air cleaner hit the hood, denting it and causing the carb body to crack and leak fuel all over the intake. Another example is when the stock XR hydraulic mounts fail and sag, they allow the motor to basically sit on top of the steering rack, f'ing up the geometry and killing the rack and tie rods.

It sounds like you've had some motor mount issues in the past. My problem is mostly a lot of clunking when I try to go fast.
