Nah, the TR7 is the "anti-Triumph". Unlike all prior Triumph sports cars that were body-on-frame, old-school technology (and I use the word "technology" loosely), and drop-dead simple, the TR7 was a unibody with a lot of modern touches and is not nearly as easy to work on.

I still think a fun LeMons car would be a rusty old hulk of a Spitfire (they show up for $200 or less pretty regularly). Throw away the drivetrain (for that price, you probably didn't get the drivetrain, anyway) and hack in something out of a dirt cheap and reliable car. Doesn't have to be pretty, this is LeMons!

You'd win Index of Effluency handily. Everyone would love the car, could even be a contender for People's Choice with a good theme. It would be light and nimble, fun to race. And it would even be fun to build if a person had the time and some meager welding skills.

Man, April can't get here fast enough! Eurotrash, are you guys doing anything to your car 'theme-wise' or running the same as last year? I'd like to find a big stuffed Manatee to bolt to our roof but those are hard to come by.

I think Barry is "enhancing" our theme. I heard something about a flashing light, and maybe a genuine trash truck back-up alarm.

Yea $150 Per point in ChrMo Is compeditive ANYWHERE, and I'm sure you guys can strip the interior before I get the car. I can shave a few bucks off the cost in Mild Steel if you want. but for the difference in cost I'd go ChroMo.. and custom built cages ALWAYS fit better then somthing built to spec then welded in.

cage is bent, will be picking it up tomorrow. timing belt done. cheap coil overs made for the front, with some new bilstiens. adjustable illuminas on the rear. act clutch (used). also ordered the 5 panel mirror (22.90 shipped) and a new steering wheel ($25 shipped). we sold $257 worth of shit off the car so we are pretty ahead cost wise. also got some brand stinking new (4) toyo proxys for $200. still kinda need a theme

Gritt, I thought you had a cage kit? Did you end up getting one made?

We are getting our engine back together this week. It actually took taking apart 3 old parts engines to find a good crank. Lucky tom has all the tools at his shop to go through te head. So it was only labor and that was free.

Hopefully the engine will be in our car by mid month. Then its only testing.

Interior is already stripped, windows out, dash out, etc, etc....

The only thing we'll have in the interior will be the gauge cluster, steering wheel and the seat mounted how we want it. I have some requirements for the cage (things you'll likely want to do anyways).. it will be a much better cage than what's in our LeMons civic...

Man, can't wait for april.

We are (POSSIBLY) needing a 4th Driver due to a medical emergency...

Front running LeMons racing team is possibly seeking one more experienced, funded driver for the 24 Hours of LeMons race on April 4-5 in Kershaw, SC at Carolina Motorsports Park. The car was a top 10 finisher out of 76 cars last year and was 2nd in class. For more info on LeMons please visit www.24hoursoflemons.com. For more info on the team please visit www.tajracing.com
Plenty of room on the car for your sponsor(s)....
Please email me if you are interested or if you have any questions. Our current 4th driver will know for sure by the end of the week.

Thanks!

Travis
