Unless your looking to ship a car to europe to stay or your going to Sell it while your there. It's well over $1000 each way after insurance and assorted fees your looking $1500-$2000 each way, hardly worth it.

Well in that case, find out where to pick up some nicer rentals. Might as well splurge.

If you look at the original post you'll see that price included 1 week rental of a VW golf. and a hint the diesel is faster if you get a choice.

Where did you rent the car from? I've read a lot about rental car companies doing gps tracking or using spotters at the ring and charging you out the ass when they see their rental show up. I went last year and rented a 318 from rent-racecar.de. Not cheap, but well worth it to have something with some good suspension.

I know, I meant it would be nice if there were places that rented nicer, sportier cars if we wanted to.
