On Sunday we got nailed from behind when I checked up and saw the yellow flag and the guy behind me didn't. (Both of us got black flags. Mine was 10 minutes, the other guy got 20) That was the rear bumper. A little after that my father jumped in and was feeling aggressive and took a little off the LF bumper. (Another black flag...his fault...no biggie though only 10 min) Then the last one came with about 45 minutes to go when some clown tried to pass 7 cars on the inside approaching the tire chicane then couldn't make the turn in and hit the tires. The car I was behind nailed him then I nailed her. Dented the front end pretty good but nothing major. She got 10 min, I got 5...not sure what the clown that caused it all got) The 25 min in penalties killed us on Sunday...

I'm sure you guys will like this type-o.... check out the title. Winners Of 24 Hours Of LeMons South on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

That vid from the start is great! Shows a couple things: First, a really skilled and smooth driver. Second, and more amusingly, it shows how he learned to deal with the chicane. He started out being "nice" and waiting in line while 3-4 cars blew past everyone and dove in front. Then he experimented with diving in himself, and almost bit it once. I think it's a lesson that we all learned.

Thanks Loren for the props! I appreciate it. We were taking it easy the first day running at about 7/10. Then day two we stepped it up to about 8.5/10. Looking back at it I guess we should have stayed conservative.

I sent my $8.34 to TAJ also..

Hey on a related note Barry, etc./ what do you think the chances of us running the 2 hour enduro during the PBOC weekend are? I'll help get the car into shape.

and we only need 2 drivers and the PBOC enduro rules require a 5 min pit stop http://www.pbocflorida.com/Enduro_Rules_2006.pdf

we can do that.... if we can get the car into shape by then.

Jeff

When is the PBOC event.. ?
The TX 24 hours event is in Oct.
Plus there is not just fixing engine.. there are tires and brake pads.

<-- Is a Tire and brake pad dealer. I might have a Prototype set of Gator Friction Pads (My own Specification pads, which are being locally made) I can still get the Hankook blowouts if you want DOT tires or we can go streets.

The PBOC race is Friday September 5th so that gives us a month to get our stuff together... Loren and myself are committed to the PBOC event. while I'd love to do another Lemons event.. October is darn close to Southern sprint.

The 00 has plenty of brake pad for a 2 hour enduro. I doubt that the pads are more than half worn. The Nitto tires would make it, too... but for a "serious" competition, you'd want race tires. Imagine that car on race tires. Wow.

But, y'all have fun. I can't spend any more money that weekend. I'll be there instructing and beating on the Yaris a little bit, that's enough.

As for another LeMons race, I'd love to! Definitely have the bug. I don't know about October, though... with the Southern Sprint, I think Jeff and I would be wise to bow out of anything else and make that our priority. My wife just told me she'd buy me a plane ticket to Toledo for my birthday for the "LeMons Detroit" race if I can find a team to race with in September.

I think if you post something on the yahoo board for the lemon heads you may find a ride. There has to be someone out there looking for another hot shoe.
