Yep $175.. hes willing to work with us since it has rod knock and #4 cyl has low compression. Time for another engine.
I happen to have a spare..

 

That really isn't bad. The cool thing is that with that $175 documented, they can't harass us about anything that was previously done to the car.

After reading the story of the Corporate Machine Caddy, I want to build one of those. Any car can be made to handle... and with brakes being considered "safety", we can make the car stop. It would be a hoot to show up with an underdog like that and whoop up on some people!

I bet you can find one for $100. Put it on a diet. Go through the cooling system. Put a mondo transmission cooler on it (or... find out what GM FWD 5-speed will fit the car...). Fix the suspension. Fix the brakes. Hell, yeah!
