Definitely no official timing and no "winner" at an HPDE. They will remind you at the driver's meeting and all day long that "this is not a race".

The goal is to drive as fast as you're comfortable driving, have fun, and finish the day with your car in the same condition it started in.

Okay. I have a couple more questions . Do you have to wear a helmet ? I am sure you do but do they have rentals or do you have to buy your own? if they do rentals on that then how much is it to rent one ? The next questions is how much does it cost to rent a in car cam to record everything ?

Each companies policy is different. They are all outlined on their respective webpages.

Okay, on the link you provided me it shows the cam being on the front of the vehicle which is fine, but I was wondering how would you be able to mount one from the inside so you can see the movements of the driver and inside view ?

Okay , I need some more sources for some car cameras. I have not been able to find any other sources so I just thought to ask and see if any of you have ? It will greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think you can rent a helmet if you are scheduled to run a full day as a driver. Chin will rent a helmet to a person that wants to do ride alongs. I believe they are $20.00.

I use the Cinemount in my car. I also use my IO port camera mount, it attaches to the cage. IO Port Racing Supplies: I/O Port Video Camera Mount

Chin Motorsports is holding a drivers event on Nov 11th and 12th at Sebring. They always welcome people to come check out the event and do some ride alongs.

Best buy has an all digital video camera. Its brand new.

Really small and comes with an external port and video source. So you can mount the small "cam" anywhere on the car and run it back to the body that in inside the car.
Its about $500 and is all digital. Uses SD memory 30 min = 1 gig.
