Default who here is scca licensed?

what do you do to maintain your license? 2 sanctioned events are required per year but I'm wondering what everyone else does to meet that requirement. autocross? road races? what are the costs associated?

I assume you are talking about a SCCA road race competition license.

Once one attains a regional competiton license, one must race in 2 regional events each year to keep the license current. That is 2 weekends of racing, not just running in 2 races in one weekend.

Also, once one attains a national license, one must compete in 3 national events each year. or combinations of national and regional events..

Waivers are sometimes granted should one not be able to race for a year. This is up to the descretion of the divisional licensing steward. Requests are sent directly to said steward.

Below is from the scca.com website.

Also, you can view the license application foms and regulations here

Upon completion of two Driver Schools and two Regional Races on your Novice Permit, you are eligible to receive an SCCA Regional Competition License. You have two years from the date of issue to complete the Novice requirements. Once the requirements are met, send your completed Novice Permit, signed off by the event Chief Steward at your second Regional race; a copy of your Physical Exam; and $55 to the Central Licensing Department. You will soon be the proud owner of a Regional Competition License.

After successfully completing four Regional events, you may upgrade to a National Competition License.
