definately a good day at sunriders minus the weather. Sucked to be a spectator(not by choice) but still fun to watch, ride along, and play with cosmo(coolest dog ever). I'll be out there next time baring any careless contruction workers in my area(damn nails/screws).

We're always happy to see Dan show up at an event. I think he took it easy on us this time. (he had a new ride) For mediocre me to get within about .5 seconds of him on a 50-second course with him on R tires and me on streets... he could have raised the bar much higher. He IS a damn good driver.

Well, I do try to be modest.

But seriously, I'm not that good. Watch me run, then watch someone like Jesse run. I'm not agressive enough. I'm smooth, and can pick a pretty good line, but I'm not agressive. Perhaps if I spent some time driving on R tires (which I've only done a few times) I might learn to be more agressive.

I'd like to try a Pro Solo, I think that would be fun. But, as far as being competitive... I blew my chance at ever being competitive on street tires when I sold my Saturn and bought a Miata that can't run in STS. And I just don't have the money or motivation to make the move to R tires.

Maybe in a few years when my son reaches driving age (hehehe) I'll have enough money to go that direction and carry him as a co-driver. That might be fun. I'm sure he'd dig it.

I had a good time. I haven't raced at a sunriders event in quite some time. It was nice to return where it pretty much started for me. (though I haven't gotten any better )
My brother was visiting from out of state and I brought him to his first event to try out his black '02 Altima 3.5 SE. He said he had a great time and was going to try to find some atocross action in his neck of the woods now. He's hooked.
I liked the layout. Seemed pretty unconventional for a sunriders event...at least from what I recall. The corkscrew was fun! Great idea! I was impressed with my times, but I thought I could have done a bit better. My tires have seen better days (suckers are getting bald...excises, excuses)...I guess it's time to buy a set of race wheels and tires. I'm sick of wearing out my street meats on race days.
It was nice to meet many fellow TR members out there as always...SlowKyle didn't look to slow to me! Good job man...nice talking to you.
I shot some video of several cars, I can post some stills taken from the vid. And email any video mpeg clips to anyone that wants 'em. Check back later this afternoon I'll post them then, no time right now.

Man, there were a lot of people!

It was a pretty fun course. I don't think i was driving as well as i could have, though. I was bummed to miss the third run group--had to leave early and go to Bradenton.

My brother's friend took some video. I guess he's editing it. I'll try and get a copy uploaded once he's done.

There were parts of that course that lent themselves to a little drift... perhaps even required it. I know I did a little controlled drifting in 3 distinct places on my two fastest runs.

The one run I took in Regina's car was pretty drifty, too... her car was very tail-happy!
