iv never had a problem with a pioneer unit, i hope this isnt a trend as im getting ready to buy a 5900

 

What kind of car? Meter the load on each speaker lead and post what it is. None should read under 4 ohms, if so you're driving the unit into protect mode or destroying its amplifier.

it might be the harness. I know you said you checked everything but its the only explanation. If that harness has a exposed or loose wire somewhere than of course it going to do it to whatever unit you hook it up to.

just undo everything and redo the wiring. Take all of the speaker wires loose and try them one at a time and see if any of them play.

I'm lost now but this is what i would do to troubleshoot.


Pioneer has always been good to me. Alpine is one that has sucked balls in the past. So far only one has been good. And thats in the wife's car. she hasnt gotten past her radio station so that bitch doesnt get used at all.

 

i still say test the speakers imp. luke could be right

 

its a 95 honda civic, all the wires are connected fine, i just re-did them again and i do think i found the problem, one of the positive speaker wires from the amp to the sub was loose. and i think might have touched the negative. but i took the amp and subs out and still no sound so i think i might have blown the head unit

 

did u check the ohm load of the door speakers?

 

no i haven't, don't have a multimeter
