He was at the show before we left in a masaratti. he sells high end cars on ebay now actually. Big change from what he used to do when he went with us to the World series in 01. That vans still infront of the shop though. My names Kiley. I worked at SOS from the time i could drive with Cris. I work for palm harbor honda actually because in the market i'm scared to go to any shops in the event of closure. but id love to get back into it. i like it alot more than this factory shit.

Yea the industry is going through some major changes currently and a lot of shops have gone away.

So what did you do up there?

I saw on there myspace that they have an Import Tech.

Was that you?

Seeing how you are currently a tech at Honda I just assumed.

If you are, I believe the performance industry is doing decent still down here.

I will say this for our industry if you look at a lot of the big boys they are putting more money into there companies right now instead of backing off.

Example is Stinger just poured 20 million into growing there company with the purchase of Select Products and a few other things.

I also just read an article written by Ashkan Tibian(Owner of 7 Elephants, Konaki, MD Sound and NT Power) and he was recommending the same thing and showed how that was the plan of action he was currently taking with his business too.

Then Soundstream/ Power Acoustik just bought the PPI name this year at CES.

It seams like they are gearing up to be in a good position when the economy does turn around as it will eventually it is just a matter of when.

well i started just doin decks when i was 16 when they closed the pittsburgh store down. they moved all the inventory to the butler store and hired me to help with the move and i just kinda stuck around since then. I became the lead installer (not custom installs though) and then moved to sales and service manager after the guy that had been doing it the whole time i was there left. So i did that and still installed, and when i felt like there was nothing else to learn there i bought my first hatch and just started toying around with performance stuff and just kinda learned from experience.

I'm pretty suprised the Stinger bought SP though, hopefully quality doesn't change because selects install stuff was wicked...i remember they had this super glue that would glue a midget to the roof, but it was like 45 bucks a bottle or something retarded. Stingers always done good stuff so im sure they should hold up.

I'm also suprise PPI got swapped over again. They weren't the same when DEI bought them as they were back in the old days of the big ass art series they did. Those things were so bad ass. I'm really suprised that beast of DEI actually sold something...they usually are the ones buying all the stuff. Sounds like PPI is getting to be like MB quart and just tossed around like a cheap whore on the streets. But thanks for the update...i really hate being out of the loop. car audio really is my first love that got me started into cars.

Not to worry, Stinger is going to make SP better. SP always had decent stuff but 90% of it could be had elsewhere for much much less if you knew where to look. Stinger is bringing that back down to reality. I'm glad PPI ended up with a trashpile company like PA, since their stuff has been trash since Directed took them. Might as well keep all the junk together.

haha...agreed on both points. install bay has alot of the same stuff as them for a lot cheaper. and as far as PPI i thought everyone down here loves power acoustic and other junk from people i've talked to. unfortunatly theres a large portion of people it seems that just like the cheapest shit they can get their hands on instead of saving a couple more bucks and get something worth while. I always told people it is what you pay for. theres only a few brands out there that are cheap and good, and in my opinion thats not one of them

Default The point was

The point was that the industry is going through major changes but still has the ability for plenty of money to be made in it.

Opinions run to extremes as to what is good, what is bad, what is whored out, what is not, what is over priced and what is not.

My point was just that if you are good at something in this industry and like it then the oppurtunity to make good money doing it, is still here you just gotta work a little harder for a little less currently but it will pay off in the long run.

The sun glared on the windows in the pic so you cannot see the amps in this pic.
