Default upgrading alt wire, need help

Ok for starters I have a 2004 corolla 1.8L vvt-i. I am trying to replace the wire leading from the alternator to the battery. I was told that there was a 100A fuse in the line but couldnt find it. In fact, when I traced the wire from the alternator, it looks like it goes to the engine bay fuse box, and not the battery like I thought it did. The reason I am doing this is I now have a H/O alternator and need to upgrade the wiring and also install an isolater for my dual battery set-up.

ALL I need to know how how to upgrade the wire from the alternator to the battery, can anyone help me???.

THANKS

Just make a new run directly from the alt to the battery. Not that hard. Drop the isolator as well that is a .7 voltage loss.

well I have to make a line from the alt to the isolater, post 2. Then post 1 on the isolater to battery 1, post 3 on the isolater to battery 2. If I run a line directly from the alt to the battery, doesnt it defeat the purpose of the isolater?

I say you just get rid of the isolator, why do you even have it?

Well then just run a new wire from the alt to wherever you mounted the iso.

ok, so what happens to the cables that used to plug into the alt? should I just not hook that end up (wrap it in taoe) and connect the ends as usual to the battery that comes off the isolater?

awwww......ok so.... if I take the stock wire from the alt to the fuse box out of the harness, and then attach the end from the fuse box to the battery itself, that would work. So basically i would have a 0-gauge going from my alt ~> battery and then what used to get power from my alt now have it going off my battery......If I am saying this right that would be awesome!!!!

THANK you so much, your awesome!!!!

I think you are making it too complicated. You dont need to alter any of the factory wiring to the fuse box at all just intercept the alternator charging wire and wire your amps to the rear battery.
