I've got a little time, so I'll post another system.

Car: 1994 Caprice

Headunit: Pioneer 5000MP AM/FM/DVD (no screen). Pretty basic head unit, but at the time, it was about the only thing decent out there that played DVD's, but didn't have a screen. Definitely not Pioneer's most advance piece, but its good. Also has IP bus, so I can add XM, TV, and Ipod...which I did.

Under the head unit is a 7" TFT monitor, in the customized dash. This is for the system video as well as the back up camera

EQ: Crossfire 5.2 1/2 din EQ. I really only use this as a pre amp and master volume control. It is a pretty solid 5 band piece, though.

Subs: Crossfire XT215 15" subs. Dual 1.8 ohm coils, 1500 watts RMS, each. These are in an 11 cu ft., double MDF, ported box, where the back seats used to be. They are SERIOUS subs.

Mids / Highs: 5 Vifa 12 ohm home theater 4's, and a peerless 1" soft dome in each door. Audiobahn soft domes in each A pillar.

Trunk Lid speakers: 2 Crossfire SX52 5 1/4's in trunk lid, next to 15" monitor.

Amps: Crossfire VR2000D 2000x1 into 2 ohms on the subs. VR602 300x2 @4 ohm runs the mids and highs. VR352 35x2 runs the trunk lid speakers

Alternator: High Output Alternator's 250 Amp. Puts out 125 amps at idle.

Batteries: 2 Stinger SPV70 sealed batteries in trunk.

Isolator: I'm using 1/2 of a 300 amp isolator. The alternator has a direct path to the rear batteries. Only the main starting battery is isolated

Capacitor: 25 Farad Lightning

Well, its pretty loud and it sounds pretty good. Its kind of fun when guys come in here with zillion watt amps and big bad subs. Most quit talking after they hear the Caprice. I've probably got 250 lbs. of dynamat in it to keep rattles down. I also have lift springs in the back, to keep it level with the 2" drop springs up front (lots of weight). Car rides like a new Cadillac. Oh yeah...its also for sale.

I can't say enough good things about Crossfire. When I opened up, I had three lines...Crossfire, Lightning, and Audiobahn. I've pretty much migrated to nothing but Crossfire, and their entry level line, Distinct. The stuff is solid, they have just enough variety, it sounds good, gets loud, and can take some abuse. I've also passed on Mmats, Rockford, Total, and several others to stay with the line. The only line that I might consider is JL, but I really only like their high end stuff, and even that is only marginally better than Crossfire, in my opinion.

Alright...here goes mine for now...will edit when subs are in..

1997 Cadillac Eldorado
Pioneer AVH-5700DVD
Infinity Kappa Perfect 5.1 for the front
Infinity Kappa 693.i3 (something like that) for the rear.
JL 300/4 for those.
Toshiba 9" Visor monitors.

Well for head unit....it's ok, I want to change to a higher model Pioneer or an Eclipse or Alpine HU. It's just too boring for me, it has some nice audio features though, would like more too.

The speakers and amp combo is amazing....it gets louder than my boy with 8 Kicker speakers in his single cab S10. You can hear the words from pretty far and very clear. The highs are amazing, and mids are real smooth.

And the monitors are amazing too, everyone that has driven behind me says they can see them from blocks away. Real good quality too.

Okay, Here goes.....

Head unit is a pioneer p7700mp, last years model, I'm looking to get the new jvc model because it plays the giga mp3 cd's and it's hard to put a flip out in my car. I love the pioneer since I have been using their products for years. Really easy to use and great control, though I have an odd habit of picking up controllers, I think i have around seven so far..... I have 4 gauge from the front battery back to a fused dist block, I have pioneer 6x8's in the front footwells, and somehow kicker ds 6x8's in the rear, car never had any speakers or wires so I had to make my own mounts, and now I added a you guessed it single cerwin vega 6x8 in the hole left from the airbag as a somewhat center channel, how I ended up with all 6x8's in a civic is beyond me but it sounds pretty good. being pushed by a power acoustic 4 channel for now, and my new bass is a jl 12w6 in a high output box powered by a jl 500/1. I couldn't beleive the difference this sub makes, loud as hell for me and my music tastes.....thanks....Kai

Truck...
HU: Alpine 9835 & S634 changer... the HU takes care of all nessesary processing (EQ, TA, XO) right from your finger tips. Monitors sub amp temp. Plays MP3's as well as the changer... I don't think I have changed CDs in about 2 years except for the SQ demo disk at comps & with SQ friends.

Amps: 2 Alpine MRV-F345 drive the entire front stage. And an MRD-M1001 drives a single 12" sub. Solid amps, with all the built in processing needed for my configuration.

Front Stage: LPG 25NFA tweeters in the kicks & a-pillars play from 3.4khz & up. The a-pillar tweets where needed in such a big vehicle to raise the stage at both ends. Dayton RS150 mids play from 3.4khz to 150hz. Near Seas quality & clarity, low distortion performance at a fraction of the price. Peerless XLS8 midbass play from 170hz to 40hz. Excellent impact & low end extention.

Sub: Diamond Audio M6 12". Among the best SQ subs on the market. Shallow basket design & excellent low end extention. Small box requirements.

Car...
HU: Pioneer DEH-P77DH & CDX-1280 changer. The HU fits the weird 1.5 din size hole in the car. Not many choices out there anyways. The changer helps keep 12 in the back for the long commutes. OK 3band Parametric, simple xOvers... external processors are pretty much a must for the serious SQ fan.

Processors: Audio Control EQX & 2XS help divide the xOver network needed for a 3 way. The EQX offers a bit more EQ tune ability. Great performance, old school looks. I Digs them There is better I know... get over it I like these LOL.

Amps: 2 JL Audio e6450 drive the entire system. I needed lot of channels in as little a footprint as possible... would have liked to go with 3 Diamond amps, but the JL's are real performers... very pleased with their performance. They need good ventilation in the summer, so don't stick them in the tire well like I did unless you do fans.

Front Stage: Dayton RS28 Tweeter... aluminum domes, play from 2khz & up. Soft roll-off around 17khz give a silk like characteristic... Huge! Dayton RS125 mids play from 2khz to 200hz. Like their RS150 bretheren, offer incredible clarity & low distortion for the price. Dayton DC200 midbass play from 200hz to 50hz. Experimental mids, not suitable for car audio use, cheaply made. They get the job done though & offer decent impact & extention for the price. They will be making room for Dayton RS180's though.

Subs: 2 Dayton RSS315 12" HF. Used in a free air setup (no box). Play from 50hz & below. Obviously not an SPL setup, but they are worthy of mounting in the doors & playing up to 300hz (if the doors could handle it).

In case you are wondering, the Dayton RS line is a referrence point by which I compare others to due to their value & performance.

I just got back from the monthly meet at T&J Elite Customs & they are very nice people. I got my system tested & hit 142db. Not bad better than I expected but, now its time for it to be taken out. Maybe before I do take it out Ill build a ported box & get it tested again just to see if I can get a little higher reading....
Ok I went & did a little tweeking on my system & hit a little harder.. 146.5db.. Now maybe Ill get off my ass & build a ported box...

REVIEW: This is my favorite deck to date. Has 3sets of 4v preouts. Media Expander really brings out the bass and mids a lot better than the old school 'loud'. THe motorized face plate is a jewel. This is one of the last Alpine decks that did not have the slide touch bar but had all the great features. Plays mp3s within seconds and I also have it running with an AUX input to play from a seperate mp3 player. Has a volt protection to prevent it from trying to over power the internal amp if there is low voltage. Only negative thing I have to say, is if you want to run the xover in 3way vs 2way, you have to flip a switch on the back side of the deck itself.

REVIEW: This is a quality amp. Hard to find as well as it was discontinued after 2005. For a A/B amp, this can put out a fair amount of power to the sub. The highs sound clean and loud. It puts out enough where I only have to have the gain turned up 1/4 for both channels 1&2 and 3&4. No bass boost needed either. Digital Display looks nice and the dual fans keep the components cool.

REVIEW: Type R Components. Overall, i like these, however the grill on the tweeters are fragile (as Dalton found out). They 6.5"s put out a decent amount of midbass and can handle the power of most mids. Tweeters seem a 'bit' tinny to me, so I had to compensate using my eq on my deck. I've blared these nearly had 3/4 volume and no distortion.

REVIEW: What can I say, this 1 Type R Sub is performs better than 2 of my old W0 12's. I suspect that having ported box helps, but this gives me plenty of bang for my buck at the moment. Also, love the bannana style connectors on the sub vs the old spade interconnects.
