I Call A Bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Infact I Have Opened Or Help Open Many Stero Shops, Speed Shops,
And Never, Have Been Asked To Produce Proof If Mechanics/installers Were Certified.
My Father Was Service Director For Many Dealerships (cadillac, Olds)
- I Ask Him About This.... The Only Reason The Dealer Requires A Ase Cert Is To Get Factory Monies For Future Training... He Would Not Hire A Non Ase Cert Mechanic Because They Did Not Want To Put The Expence Int Training Them, But If The Were Already Cetified Then The Would Get Continiouing Education Paid But Factory...
Then I Again Asked About This At Bb To The Area Trainer And He Had Never Heard Of Such A Thing... And Rumor Has It, They Are Droping The Requirement To Be Mecp Certified, So If Bb Doesnt Inforce It Now And In The Future - I Think You Might Have Your Faqs About A Law Wrong!!!!

Now There Is A Law About The Work Orders The State Doesnt Play Around With And There Is Where You Might Be Confused

Not sure of the specifics on certified installers, but I do know that the state of Florida is enforcing a fine on inadequate record keeping of customer info.. Basically every shop has to fill out a bunch of BS (VIN, tag number, address, vehicle condition, etc. etc. etc.) for every car serviced and store those records. There's some rediculous find (like $2,000 or something) for every car that was worked on missing it. One of the SA's in north FL just got nailed for it.
