MECP Study guide
I have one and canget you a copy i have a stack at work, we all have to be MECP certified now. And for any installation to technically be covered You have to be MECP, also if your shop is listed as an auto repari facility you have to be ASE or MECP. New law we were just audited for it.
law... what law?
maybe to get insurance...
but never heard of that law and who would inforce it?
how many mom & pop gas stations fix cars and no one is certified?
remeber mecp is a indipendent company - no controled but the government . they set there own rules & tests.
Dont get me wrong I am for certification & training, I have seen many installers screw up and a little knowledge would have saved the company some money. but as i as said before This area doent pay installs shit.

We are still going through this and last years Work orders Trying to fix all the mistakes. We had to do this before they would reissue out Repair center liscence. Iunno How stickler the law is or what all it intales but a week after this we were shipped a box full of MECP guids and Sample tests. Im ASE and MECP so i have no worries, but all the guys at the shop are studying their tails off ! Its good to be cerified just so you can say HEY I know What im talking about
I Would Like To Know What This New Law Is? When Was It Passed?3
A Law Like This Would Require A Vote From The Poeple.
Who Inforces It?
Who Do You Work For That Could Afford To Pay $50k Per Employee And $20k Per Work Order?
Ase & Mecp Certified, Arnt There Many Differnt Degrees Of Those Certs, What Are They Requiring There?

I would like to know the store where this "fine" was imposed and what statute it resides under. Else I will dig up the dreaded BS flag....

I think its a random Audit... We got ramed in the Ass. CC apparently Certifies all its installers with the Test you take when you become an installer you remember that retarded test you took on ELearning ? you had to get over an 85 to pass... thats your Cert.

When i worked for Ferman Chevrolet they Kinda were like YOU Dont need to be certified But if y ou wanna be a actual technician you need to be ASE Certified or GM certified. After 6 months at a Dealership or Equivilant you can test for your ASE. I have both. You kinda rack them up as you work and train. But if you walk into Any Dealership youll see the ASE Logo on the Shop wall or near the Shop Entrance Which states the Shop is ASE certified. I dont know the actual law or statute this all falls under but When we all got chewed I heard alot of Staute this law that Audit this 50k Dollars that ...
