So Circuit City goes down the drain
yeah ive looked at the brands they carry, i figured they were insane
it would be worth the 30 min drive if i didnt have school all the time....but right now i cant work more than like 20ish hrs a week so i doubt theyd hire me
when i get time im gonna go down there and check it out, meet ppl who work there, then once i master alarms and whatnot, if i have a better class schedule, ill think about it

I looked online about the MECP cert, and it doesn't seem like you would need to know half that stuff to install a stereo into a car. Do you need to have that cert to be hired?

CC and BB are the only places that will hire you without MECP, and yes there is a lot of shit on there you dont need to know to install stereos but yes it is to prove your basic knowledge, in the theory that if you have the basic knowledge you will be able to solve problems you come across when you install

MECP certification is very helpful, but most shops are primarily looking for professional experience. Without out it, you're really not going to have much of a chance anywhere but places like BB or CC...and the only downfall to working there is you're not going to get to do the custom work that makes car audio fun, just install a gazillion cheap cd players everyday. It's a somewhat difficult field to break into.
